APSU ROTC Cadet Zachary Lepley named 2017 Command Sgt. Maj. Darol Walker Award winner

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – ROTC Cadet Zachary C. Lepley was presented the 2017 Command Sgt. Maj. Darol Walker Award during a breakfast ceremony held April 27th at Austin Peay State University.

Lepley is pursuing his Bachelor of Science in political science with a minor in military science from APSU.

Fort Campbell releases names of two 101st Airborne Division Soldiers killed in Oak Grove Kentucky

 

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Two 101st Airborne Division Soldiers were shot and killed at approximately 6:30pm Thursday in Oak Grove, Kentucky.

The two Soldiers have been identified as Spc. Priscilla A. East, 32, of Missouri City, Texas, and Spc. Christopher R. Hoch, 28, of Ferndale, Michigan. Hoch  was posthumously promoted to the rank of sergeant.

East was a health care specialist who joined the Army in March 2011 and arrived at Fort Campbell in August 2014. Her awards and decorations include the Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon.

U.S. Department of Defense identifies 101st Airborne Division casualty

 

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – The U.S. Department of Defense announces today the death of a Soldier who was supporting Operation Inherent Resolve.

1st Lt. Jeffrey D. Cooper, of Mill Creek, Washington, died September 10th, in Kuwait, from a non-combat related incident. He was killed as a result of a vehicle rollover accident while traveling from Camp Buehring, Kuwait, to Ali Al Salem Airfield.

Cooper, 25, was an infantry officer assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).

101st Airborne Division identifies Soldier swept away in creek Friday

 

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Soldier whose body was recovered in a Fort Campbell creek Tuesday has been identified.

The Soldier is identified as Spc. Dhaifal Ali, 34, from Arlington, Texas, was assigned to the 372nd Inland Cargo Transfer Company, 129th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 101st Airborne Division Sustainment Brigade.

The search for Dhaifal, who was swept away by strong currents Friday, lasted five days before being located by recovery personnel yesterday. He was found approximately 500 meters from the area he was initially swept away at the low water crossing over Little West Fork Creek on Fort Campbell.

101st Airborne Division releases name of Soldier Killed during Training Exercise at Fort Polk

 

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – A 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Soldier died May 10th, 2016 from injuries sustained during a live-fire training exercise at the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk, LA.

Pfc. Victor J. Stanfill, an infantryman with Company A, 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, “Rakkasans,” 19, was pronounced dead at approximately 11:08am at Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital on Fort Polk.

A native of Fulton, MD, Stanfill enlisted into the U.S. Army September 22nd, 2015, completing one-station unit training at Fort Benning, GA, as an infantryman. After graduating from training, he was assigned as an infantryman in Co. A, 2nd Bn., 506th Inf. Regt., in January 2016.

Fort Campbell 101st Airborne Division Headquarters Soldier dies in Afghanistan

 

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – A Fort Campbell Soldier died June 28th, 2013 in a non-combat related incident at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. The Army says it is investigating Rogers’ death.

Sergeant Justin Richard Rogers, 25, of Barton, NY, was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) as a horizontal construction engineer.

He joined the Army in March 2008.
