First, they came from behind to force overtime and defeat Overton to advance to the Division I Class AAA Girls State Tournament. Next, they scored in the final seconds to defeat Morristown West in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
In the semifinals of the Division 1 Class AAA Girls State Tournament Friday, March 7th, at the Murphy Center in Murfreesboro the drama continued. The stage was set for the Lady Hawks to advance to their first State Championship Game with the scored tied in the last seconds of the game. However, this time the Lady Hawks were on the losing side of a dramatic victory.
Murfreesboro, TN – The Rossview Lady Hawks are soaring.
With a 52-47 overtime win over the Morristown West Lady Trojans Wednesday morning at MTSU’s Murphy Center in their first State Tournament appearance, the Lady Hawks have soared to the State Semifinals.
The lead changed five times in regulation. The teams were tied 34-34 going into the last quarter, and with 26 seconds left in the game, the Lady Trojans led 45-43.
Clarksville, TN – On paper, the Rossview Lady Hawks and the Mt. Juliet Lady Bears look a lot alike. They both have smothering defenses, smart guards and a dominating post game.
As a result, the Region 5-AAA Tournament Championship game at Rossview Wednesday, February 26th, a showdown between two district number one seeds, came down to which team executed their game better.

They were the first Lady Hawks basketball team to earn the regular season district title. Then, they went on to be the first Lady Hawks’ team to win the District Tournament Championship.
After beating the Beech Lady Buccaneers, 57-49, Monday, February 24th at home, they became the first Lady Hawks’ team in school history to advance to the Region 5-AAA Tournament Championship game.
Clarksville, TN – It is no secret the Rossview Lady Hawks potent offense goes through the post and the Lebanon Lady Blue Devils executed a solid plan to slow down the Lady Hawks post game. However, the Lady Hawks proved their defense is equally as potent and took advantage of Devilette turnovers to win their Region 5-AAA quarterfinal matchup against Lebanon Friday night at Rossview High School, 56-39.
“It was a physical game. I thought we got knocked around a little bit. This time of year, it’s kind of what you expect,“ Lady Hawks head coach Justin Woods said. “We have hung our hat on our defense all year. I didn’t think tonight was our best defensive effort, but we got enough stops, turned those stops into transition baskets, to pull it out tonight.”
Clarksville, TN – The regular season concluded and the District tournaments commenced last week. From eight teams in the quarterfinals to four in the semis, and finally both the Boys and Girls District 10-AAA Tournament Champions were crowned on Monday and Tuesday.
Now, the tournament champions and three teams on both sides will begin competition in the Region 5AAA Tournament at Rossview High School beginning Friday, February 21st.
Clarksville, TN – Deep, dominant and balanced are just a few adjectives used to describe the Rossview Lady Hawks basketball teams. Now, for the first time in school history, writers can add District 10-AAA Tournament Champions. The Lady Hawks defeated the Kenwood Lady Knights in the District 10-AAA Girls Basketball Tournament Monday night at Rossview High School 63-35.
The win advances the Lady Hawks to the Regionals as the District 10-AAA number one seed. As a result they will play the District 9 fourth seed Friday, February 21st.
Clarksville, TN – Needing a win to wrap-up its second straight outright District 10-AAA regular-season title, February 4th, the Rossview High Lady Hawks got out early on Kenwood High and never looked back, as they came away with a 69-37 victory.
Rossview (19-2, 13-0 District 10-AAA) had already earned at least a share of the regular-season title, but still had to come up with a win versus the Lady Knights or a win over West Creek High School — the number-two team in the district standings on February 7th — for the outright title.
Clarksville, TN – Rossview High School scored the final four points in overtime, January 10th, to defeat the Kenwood High School 63-61 to remain undefeated in District 10-AAA play.
But the Lady Hawks (12-2, 6-0 District 10-AAA) almost didn’t get to the overtime period, as they had to score three points in the final 16 seconds of regulation to tie the game 59-59 to force the extra period.
Down three points after two free throws by Lady Knights (6-9, 3-2 District 10-AAA) Jasmine Johnson with 25 seconds left, the Lady Hawks came down and got a dribble drive to the basket by Karle Pace – who was fouled with 16 seconds left.
Clarksville, TN – Rossview High School center Janie White more than outscored Clarksville High School by herself with 35 points, January 3rd at the William Workman Gymnasium, as the Lady Hawks defeated the Lady Wildcats, 50-19 in a District 10-AAA contest.
Most of White’s damage came in the fourth quarter, where she scored 18 points for the Lady Hawks (10-2, 4-0 District 10-AAA) to pull away for the Lady Wildcats – who were only down 10 points, 28-18, heading into the final period.
