Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Honky Tonks were stunned by the Round Rock Dance Halls 2-1 in 10 innings Saturday night in front of 11,038 fans in Music City. Round Rock’s victory secured the Dance Halls the coveted Boot Trophy in the Battle for the Boot Series.

The Honky Tonks pitching staff was cruising through 26 outs but Bobby Wahl yielded a solo home run to Round Rock’s Drew Robinson, which knotted the game at one run apiece and sent the game to extra innings. Wahl blew his first save of the season as he allowed a game-tying two-out home run to Drew Robinson in the top of the ninth inning. The right-hander was a perfect seven for seven in save opportunities entering Saturday’s game.

Nashville Honky Tonks late error costly in 3-2 loss to Round Rock Dance Halls

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN -The Round Rock Dance Halls took advantage of an eighth inning error and topped the Nashville Honky Tonks, 3-2, in front of a sellout crowd of 11,071 at First Tennessee Park Friday night.

With two outs and the game even at 2-2 in the top of the eighth, Dance Halls first baseman Tommy Joseph hit a bouncer to Nashville shortstop Jorge Mateo who let go of an errant throw to allow Joseph second base. The miscue came back to hurt when Andy Ibanez followed with a go-ahead, run-scoring single to give Round Rock a 3-2 lead.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Honky Tonks scored four runs in the seventh inning on their way to a 7-4 win over the Round Rock Dance Halls in front of 9,477 fans at First Tennessee Park Thursday night. The win evened the nine-game Battle for the Boot series at three games apiece.

Trailing 4-1 entering the bottom of the sixth inning, Nashville got back-to-back home runs from Ramon Laureano and Sheldon Neuse to cut the deficit to one run. It was the third time Nashville teammates have gone back-to-back in 2018.

Nashville Honky Tonks return to First Tennessee Park to host Four Games against Round Rock Dance Halls

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Honky Tonks return to First Tennessee Park for a four-game homestand set to begin this Thursday, June 21st, 2018.

The Honky Tonks host the Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, the Round Rock Dance Halls, in the “Battle for the Boot” series. The two teams continue their pursuit for the coveted Boot Trophy after beginning the “Battle for the Boot” in late May when the Dance Halls won three of five games in Texas.

The Honky Tonks need to win three of four to claim the trophy.

Nashville Honky Tonks late rally falls short at Round Rock Dance Halls, 6-5

Nashville SoundsRound Rock, TX – For the second night in a row, the Nashville Honky Tonks got home runs from Ramon Laureano and Jake Smolinski and rallied late, only to fall 6-5 against the Round Rock Dance Halls on Saturday night at Dell Diamond. The Honky Tonks have lost three of the first four in the series and the Battle for the Boot and are back to .500 on the season at 27-27.

The Honky Tonks never led in the game but fought back from a 5-0 deficit. Former Nashville pitcher Yovani Gallardo gave up just one run over seven innings against his old team. Smolinski grounded out in the sixth to score Nick Martini to get Nashville on the board.

Nashville SoundsRound Rock, TX -The Nashville Honky Tonks let two different leads slip away and then had a late rally fall short, losing 6-5 to the Round Rock Dance Halls in Game 3 of a five-game series on Friday night at Dell Diamond. The Honky Tonks now trail two games to one in the series and the second annual Battle for the Boot.

Trailing 6-3 after seven innings, the Honky Tonks fought back with two runs in the eighth against Round Rock reliver Taylor Scott. Steve Lombardozzi delivered a sacrifice fly to plate Sheldon Neuse, and Jorge Mateo grounded out to score BJ Boyd and cut the deficit to 6-5.

Nashville Honky Tonks pull away from Round Rock Dance Halls, 8-6

Nashville SoundsRound Rock, TX – Jake Smolinski clubbed a pair of home runs and the Nashville Honky Tonks hit four as a team on their way to an 8-6 win over the Round Rock Dance Halls Thursday night at Dell Diamond. The win in Round Rock evened the 2018 Battle for the Boot at one game each.

Smolinski wasted little time getting his big night started when he launched a solo homer in the top of the first inning to give Nashville a 1-0 lead. The center fielder finished the night a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored.

The early lead didn’t last long as Christian Lopes hit a solo homer of his own in the bottom of the first to even the game at 1-1. Nashville never trailed, but every time the Honky Tonks scored, the Dance Halls answered.

Nashville Honky Tonks silenced by Round Rock Dance Halls

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Round Rock Dance Halls claimed the Battle for the Boot trophy with a 10-0 win over the Nashville Honky Tonks in front of a sellout crowd of 10,210 at First Tennessee Park Thursday night.

The inaugural two-game home-and-home series went to Round Rock with wins on May 5th at Dell Diamond and Thursday night’s drubbing.

The series finale belonged to Round Rock from start to finish as the Dance Halls started the scoring in the second and never looked back.

Nashville falls to Round Rock Walk-Off, 4-3

Nashville SoundsRound Rock, TX – Jurickson Profar’s walk-off base hit gave the Round Rock Dance Halls a 4-3 win over the Nashville Honky Tonks at Dell Diamond on Friday night. The 10th inning base hit gave Round Rock a big advantage in the two-game #BattleForTheBoot series between the two American Southern Division rivals.

Profar’s game-winner came off Honky Tonks reliever Aaron Kurcz with one out in the inning. Kurcz struck out A.J. Jimenez to start the inning, but then issued a costly walk to Elio Castillo.
