Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) football program continues to add to its historic season in 2019, as it earned a first-round home game versus Furman, noon, November 30th at Fortera Stadium, in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision Playoffs.
The Governors (9-3, 7-1 OVC), ranked 18th nationally, received the opening-round home game after defeating Eastern Illinois in its regular-season finale, 35-7, to win not only win the Ohio Valley Conference regular-season title for the first time since 1977, but also claim the automatic bid the conference champion receives with a regular-season championship.

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) football team continues to be one of the best run-stopping defenses in the nation, as this past weekend in Macon, GA, the Governors held the Mercer Bears rushing attack to less than 50 yards from scrimmage.
In giving up just 43 net yards from scrimmage on the ground to Mercer, it marks the third straight week the Govs run defense has allowed their opponents less than 60 total rushing yards net in a contest, with APSU giving up 53 yards to North Carolina Central in the season opener on August 29th and 32 yards to Central Arkansas on September 7th.

Knoxville, TN – Head coach Jeremy Pruitt will make his Neyland Stadium debut as Tennessee Vols Football welcomes in-state foe East Tennessee State to Knoxville for its home opener on Saturday afternoon.
Kickoff for Saturday’s contest is slated for 3:00pm CT on the SEC Network with Taylor Zarzour (play-by-play) and Matt Stinchcomb (analyst) calling the action in the booth and Kris Budden reporting from the sidelines. Vol Network radio affiliates will have a live audio broadcast with Bob Kesling, Tim Priest and Brent Hubbs. Sirius (Channel 113) and XM satellite radio (Channel 190) will also carry the game.
