Montgomery County to hold Horseshoe Pits Grand Opening Ceremony Saturday

 

Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Government invites the public to the Grand Opening Ceremony for the Horseshoe Pits at Civitan Park on Saturday, June 8th at 9:00am.

Special Operations Aviation Training Battalion (SOATB) welcomes new commander at Fort Campbell

Fort Bragg, NC – The Special Operations Aviation Training Battalion (SOATB) bid farewell to Lt. Col. Mark G. Kappelmann and welcomed new commander Jeffery J. Bragg in a ceremony Friday at the Gen. Bryan “Doug” Brown Compound, Fort Campbell, KY.

In his last decision as the SOATB commander, Kappelmann made the weather call as rain persisted throughout the morning, moving the ceremony indoors to Fox Hangar.

Maj. Jeffery J. Bragg, who has served in the 160th SOAR (A) since 2010, most recently as the Regiment S3, receives the SOATB guidon from Brig. Gen. Clayton M. Hutmacher as he takes command Friday. Austin Peay State University to graduating military students and veterans with APSU Military Coin on August 8th

 

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Active duty and military veteran students who will graduate from Austin Peay State University on August 10th will receive APSU’s military coin in a separate ceremony.

The military graduate recognition and coin presentation ceremony, with the theme “All Hail to Those Who Serve,” is scheduled for 5:00pm, Wednesday, August 8th in the Morgan University Center Ballroom. The event is open to the public.

101st Airborne Division Deputy Commander to be promoted to Brigadier General

 

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Col. William B. Hickman, deputy commander (support), 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), will be promoted to brigadier general in a promotion ceremony at McAuliffe Hall on July 2nd.

Hickman was nominated for appointment to brigadier general on May 24th, 2011 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate on December 17th, 2011 with a promotion date of July 1st, 2012. Hickman served as the deputy commander (operations), 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), from August 2011 to June 2012 before assuming his current position as deputy commander (support).

Dedication Ceremony Set for Fort Campbell’s Olinto M. Barsanti Elementary School

 

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – A dedication ceremony will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, January 7th, in order to commemorate the opening of Fort Campbell’s newest school and its namesake – Maj. Gen. Olinto M. Barsanti.
