Clarksville City Council - Ward 10Clarksville, TN – Here are the rest of the items of note regarding Thursday’s (August 1st) regular council session.

Ordinance 6 (Transferring the funding of the director position of the Two Rivers Company (TRC) from control of the TRC to the city)

There was discussion as to why the TRC would want to give up full control of the position at the time when the city had fully funded the requirement and provided funding up to the amount of $350,000 for programs and projects. «Read the rest of this article»

The first highlights the regular July council session that was moved up to tonight since Thursday (the usual date) is the 4th of July. Council members Steward and Lewis were absent. Clarksville City Council Budget and Executive Session Brief Recap for June 27th, 2013

 

Clarksville City Council - Ward 10Clarksville, TN – The council met in a shorter budget special council session (about 4.5 hours) after first conducting the required executive session.

Executive Session – An interesting topic of the executive session was Mayor McMillan’s submission of her nominees for the Clarksville Ethics Commission.

After seeing the nominee list and doing some homework, I asked the mayor to affirm that at least one of her nominees (Pastor Willie Freeman) is a financial donor to her 2014 mayoral re-election campaign.  She confirmed this was true. «Read the rest of this article»

Clarksville City Council Regular Session Recap of April 4th, 2013

 

Clarksville City Council - Ward 10Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville city council met in its usual first Thursday of the month, April 4th, regular session.  It was a short, but potent agenda that lasted for a couple of hours.

Ordinance 67 (Ethics) – This was the second and final vote on this long and drawn out process. I proposed three amendments with one being approved. The successful amendment added a section to the Ethics Commission process requiring nominees fill out a questionnaire. «Read the rest of this article»

Clarksville City Council - Ward 10Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville City Council met in its usual first Thursday of the month session on March 7th. It was a long meeting lasting until 11:00pm. Here is Part II on the results of some important decisions.

Ordinance 67 (Ethics): You know the history, the delays and now the moment of truth. This ordinance would create an Ethics Commission that would review ethics complaints.
