APSU FootballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s (APSU) football team returns to action after its bye week when it hosts Tennessee Tech for Homecoming, 4:00pm, Saturday, October 27th at Fortera Stadium.

The Governors (3-4, 1-3 OVC) enter the game against the Golden Eagles (0-7, 0-4 OVC) with a four-game home winning streak, dating back to the final two contests of 2017.

Nashville Sounds fall to Oklahoma City Dodgers 7-1

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds and Oklahoma City Dodgers will play a deciding game five in the American Conference Finals after the Dodgers used a 7-1 win over the Sounds Saturday night to extend the series.

Dodgers’ starter and former Sound Alfredo Figaro went seven innings and limited Nashville to one run over five hits.

Figaro got plenty of offense and it started early for Oklahoma City. Back-to-back walks issued to Micah Johnson and Cody Bellinger started the game. After Nashville starter Donn Roach came back to get the next two batters, Chris Taylor hit a bouncer to third that Matt Chapman mishandled allowing Johnson to score.

Nashville Sounds rally late to take Game Three from Oklahoma City Dodgers

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning propelled the Nashville Sounds to a crucial 6-5 win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers in front of 6,643 fans Friday night at First Tennessee Park.

With the come-from-behind win, Nashville took control of the best-of-five American Conference Finals with a 2-1 lead. The Sounds have an opportunity to clinch a trip to the Pacific Coast League Championship Series with a win in game four Saturday night at First Tennessee Park.

After building an early 4-0 lead, Nashville’s bullpen squandered away the lead and trailed 5-4 going into the bottom of the eighth.

Nashville Sounds take Game One against Oklahoma City Dodgers

 

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – Renato Nunez knocked in five runs for the Nashville Sounds in a thrilling 10-7 win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers in game one of the American Conference Finals Wednesday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Nashville raced out to a 6-0 lead thanks in part to a three-run homer from Nunez in the opening frame. They chased rehabbing Scott Kazmir from the game after the southpaw hit two batters, walked a pair and allowed the home run.

Nashville Sounds lose 4-1 to Oklahoma City Dodgers at First Tennessee Park

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The largest crowd in First Tennessee Park history of 11,759 fans watched the Oklahoma City Dodgers finish off a four-game sweep of the Nashville Sounds with a 4-1 win Sunday night.

It’s the first time the Sounds (47-37) have been swept in nearly a calendar year. The last time was August 15th-18th of last season when the El Paso Chihuahuas came into First Tennessee Park and won four straight.

Both starters were locked in early and didn’t allow any runs. Zach Neal, working in his first game since being optioned from Oakland, worked four shutout innings after being used primarily out of the bullpen by the A’s.

Oklahoma City Dodgers beat Nashville Sounds 7-3 at First Tennessee Park

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Oklahoma City Dodgers’ steady offense led to a 7-3 win over the Nashville Sounds in front of a sellout crowd of 10,023 Thursday night at First Tennessee Park.

In a battle of first place teams in the PCL’s American Conference, Oklahoma City grabbed game one of the four-game series thanks to scoring in five different innings.

The trouble started right away for Nashville’s Angel Castro. Micah Johnson opened the game with a double to the left field wall against the Sounds’ starter. Corey Brown knocked him in with a groundout to give the Dodgers a 1-0 lead before the Sounds came to the plate.

Nashville Sounds rally in the Ninth to beat Oklahoma City Dodgers 7-4

 

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds rallied for three runs in the ninth to win their seventh consecutive series with a 7-4 win against the Oklahoma City Dodgers Sunday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Colin Walsh walked to lead off the ninth for the Sounds and was followed by a double by Joey Wendle. After a Bruce Maxwell fly out, Jaycob Brugman came to bat with one out in the inning and the go ahead run just 90 feet away.

Brugman then showed his heroics once again as he delivered a one-out two-run single to left field scoring Walsh and  Wendle to give the Sounds a 6-4 lead.

Ninth Inning Rally falls short as Nashville Sounds lose to Oklahoma City Dodgers 4-3

 

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds ninth inning rally came up short in a 4-3 loss against the Oklahoma City Dodgers Saturday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The Sounds started the ninth inning down 4-2 and attempted a ninth inning rally to take game four of the five-game series from the Dodgers. Joey Wendle led off the ninth with a single to center to start the inning. Rangel Ravelo then followed with a single of his own and the tying run was aboard for the Sounds. Bruce Maxwell’s fly out to center allowed Wendle to advance to third but Ravelo remained at first.

Nashville Sounds win one, lose one at Oklahoma City Dodgers

 

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds used a 4-1 win in game two of a doubleheader to earn a split with the Oklahoma City Dodgers Thursday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Four relievers combined to limit Oklahoma City to just one run on four hits in the game two win. Eduard Santos made a spot start and worked three innings before R.J. Alvarez, Andrew Triggs and Patrick Schuster finished the job.

O’Koyea Dickson’s solo homer in the second got the Dodgers on the board first, but the lead didn’t last long. Rangel Ravelo started the third with a single and came around to score on a Jaycob Brugman’s sacrifice fly to even the game at 1-1.
