Clarksville Academy introduces new Polar Cardio GX Training System

 

Clarksville AcademyClarksville, TN – Clarksville Academy continues to lead in enriching the education for today’s students with the use of technology. CA’s recent addition is the Polar Cardio GX Training System, which tracks and provides feedback for individual fitness performance via an electronic sensor.

Each student wears a sensor, built into an adjustable belt that is worn just below the chest. The feedback from the sensor is delivered by Bluetooth connection to the student and teacher’s iPad or Macbook.

3 faculty members shine in notable events

 

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Three faculty members at Austin Peay State University have recent noteworthy accomplishments.

Dr. Dwonna Goldstone, associate professor of English and coordinator of the African American studies minor, served as moderator October 16th at the Texas Book Festival in Austin. New Scholar Chat at APSU allows faculty to discuss scholarship, creative activity

 

Austin Peay State UniversityAustin Peay State University has a new program for faculty members to discuss their scholarship and creative activity.  

Called Scholar Chat, the new venue is held from 12:30pm-1:30pm, on the first Friday of every month (October 1st, November 5th and December 3rd) in the Morgan University Center, Room 305.

In addition to being a casual gathering for faculty members to discuss their scholarship and creative activity, the forum is a time for faculty to brainstorm ideas about how to get more students interested and participating in undergraduate research. APSU faculty, staff recognized for their efforts

 

Austin Peay State UniversityTwo faculty and staff members at Austin Peay State University demonstrated recent professional and scholarly service.

Dr. Tristan Denley, provost and vice president of academic affairs, presented a talk, titled “Sudoku: More than just a game,” at the Combinatorial Theory Seminar held June 4th at the University of Oxford Mathematical Institute in England.

Dr. Korre Foster, assistant professor of music, presented his research, titled “Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s ‘Messe pour Monsieur Mauroy,’” held July 1st-4th at the 14th Biennial International Conference on Baroque Music being held at Queen’s University in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

APSU faculty, staff recognized for their achievements

 

Several faculty and staff members at Austin Peay State University have achieved recent accomplishments.

Kimara Clarke, licensed professional counselor and mental health service provider in the Student Counseling Services, received the Education Specialist in school counseling. She graduated with honor. 

Kim Coats, administrative assistant in the department of health and human performance, earned a Bachelor of Professional Studies.
