Clarksville, TN – The National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience & Students in Transition announced this year’s recipients of the Outstanding First-Year Student Advocate Award.
Clarksville, TN – At the awards banquet during the Southeastern Interfraternity Conference (SEIFC) Annual Leadership Academy in Atlanta, Georgia, Austin Peay State University student Aristeo S. “Ari” Ruiz was named SEIFC’s Gregory R. Singleton Fraternity Man of the Year.
“This award means a lot for me because it has given me a platform to say that we all need to reignite the purpose for fraternity and sorority life and go back to the basics – our values,” Ruiz said.
Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University chapter of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) was recently honored with the national honor society’s 2016-17 Presidential Circle of Excellence.
ODK is currently comprised of over 300 chapters, referred to as circles, nationally, and the Austin Peay circle was one of only a handful to be selected for the prestigious honor by the ODK Board of Directors.
Clarksville, TN – Twenty-eight Austin Peay State University students were recently selected for inclusion in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges for the 2016-2017 academic year.
These 28 individuals will be officially recognized at the Student Organization and Leader Awards on April 19th, at Austin Peay.
Gregory Singleton named to ODK National Advisory Committee
Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) National Leadership Honor Society was recently the recipient of the ODK Superior Circle Award, distinguishing it as one of the best chapters in the nation.
Bestowed upon circles nationally that exhibit outstanding programming and leadership development opportunities for their members, the APSU Circle was lauded as an example of “continuing a culture of excellence” on campus.
Clarksville, TN – Kenneth Maddox has come “back home” to APSU for the spring 2016 semester to serve as the interim director of the Wilbur N. Daniel African American Cultural Center.
Maddox, a two time alumni of the University, agreed to serve in this capacity after the former director, Henderson Hill III, accepted a new position at the University of Toledo.

Clarksville, TN – Gregory R. Singleton, associate vice president and dean of students at Austin Peay State University, was recently named the 2014 recipient of the Dr. Kent L. Gardner Award.
The Gardner Award is presented to a senior college/university administrator who has demonstrated a long-term commitment to the advancement of fraternities and sororities.

Singleton, Austin Peay State University associate vice president and dean of students, was recently selected by Omicron Delta Kappa as the 2014 recipient of the Morlan-Bishop Faculty Officer of the Year Award during the ODK National Convention and Centennial Celebration, held in Lexington, VA, June 11th-1th, 2014.
