Rogers Tosses Quality Start In No-Decision For Nashville

Nashville SoundsAlbuquerque, NM – The Albuquerque Isotopes scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to hang a 4-2 defeat on the Nashville Sounds on Saturday evening at Isotopes Park in the second game of a four-game series.

The loss was Nashville’s third in a row on the heels of the club’s season-best four-game winning streak earlier in the week. The defeat dropped the Sounds to 8-21 on the year, the worst start in club history.

Nashville out-hit Albuquerque, 9-5, in the game but left nine runners on base on the evening.

Nashville Sounds drop opener to Albuquerque Isotopes

 

Nashville SoundsAlbuquerque, NM – Starting pitcher Stephen Fife threw seven scoreless innings of three-hit ball as the Nashville Sounds dropped an 8-1 defeat to the Albuquerque Isotopes on Friday night in the opener of a four-game series at Isotopes Park.

Holding the Sounds to one hit through the first five innings and retiring a stretch of 11 straight at one point in the contest, Fife (3-2) set a season-high with seven strikeouts for the victory and extended his scoreless streak to 13 innings over his last two starts.

Late Salt Lake Grand Slam Gives Nashville 8-4 Loss In Series Finale

 

Nashville SoundsSalt Lake City, UT – The Nashville Sounds lost to the Salt Lake Bees, 8-4, on Sunday afternoon at Spring Mobile Ballpark in the finale of a four-game set.

After Nashville took an early 4-1 lead in the bottom of the second inning, Salt Lake scored seven unanswered, including five in the bottom of the seventh inning to avoid a four-game series sweep.

The loss halted a season-best four-game winning streak by the Sounds (17-25), who posted their first winning series on the road this season by taking the first three games of the series.

Sounds Win Fourth Straight, 9-4 Over Bees

 

Nashville SoundsSalt Lake City, UT – The Nashville Sounds continued their winning ways on Saturday evening at Spring Mobile Ballpark, hanging a 9-4 defeat on the host Salt Lake Bees.

The red-hot Sounds (17-24) extended their longest winning streak of the season to four games and have been victorious in eight of their past 10 contests.

The Nashville offense exploded for a season-high 15 hits, including eight for extra bases. The Sounds’ seven doubles on the night were one shy of the single-game franchise record.

Sounds Win 9-8 Over Salt Lake In Road Trip Opener

 

Nashville SoundsSalt Lake City, UT – The Nashville Sounds began their eight-game road trip with a 9-8 victory over the Salt Lake Bees on Thursday evening at Spring Mobile Ballpark in the opener of a four-game series. The victory was Nashville’s (15-24) sixth in the last eight games.

Mat Gamel and Jordan Brown each collected three hits in the victory, while Eric Farris and George Kottaras both had two hits with two runs scored.

Chase Wright (1-3) earned his first win with five scoreless innings for Nashville. The left-hander gave up five hits while fanning a season–high six batters.
