Sounds Lose 4th Straight Contest, Fall 5-2 In Memphis
Nashville – which out-hit Memphis 8-4 in the contest – left nine on base on the night, finishing just 1-for-15 with runners in scoring position. Memphis took the night’s first lead by plating an unearned run against Josh Butler in the bottom of the first inning. Sounds Plate Three Late Runs, Defeat Memphis 6-3Nashville Wraps Up 2011 Home Slate Tomorrow Evening
With the score knotted at 3-3, Nashville batted around against Redbirds reliever Jess Todd to register the game-winning three-run outburst. Eric Farris led off the Sounds’ eighth with a single and moved to second on Mat Gamel’s opposite-field single through the left side of the infield. With one out, Caleb Gindl ripped a line-drive single to center to plate Farris with the go-ahead run. After an intentional walk was issued to Brandon Boggs to load the bases, pinch-hitter Andy Gonzalez gave the Sounds some breathing room with a two-run single to left that extended the lead to three. ![]() Nashville Sounds Baseball.
