Nashville Sounds lose to Omaha 11-2

 

Nashville SoundsPapillion, NE – Omaha catcher Brett Hayes was a one-man wrecking crew on Sunday afternoon at Werner Park, homering twice and driving in seven runs to lead the Storm Chasers to an 11-2 victory over the Nashville Sounds.

Hayes missed the cycle by a triple during his 4-for-4 afternoon and produced the most RBIs against Nashville since Albuquerque’s Jerry Sands drove in eight runs during his two grand slam performance on July 29th, 2012.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Despite rallying back from a three-run deficit, the Nashville Sounds came up short to the visiting Oklahoma City RedHawks Tuesday night at Greer Stadium by the score of 5-3.

Trailing 3-0 early, the Sounds battled back to knot it up, scoring a run in the third, sixth and seventh innings. Leading the charge was Caleb Gindl, going three-for-five on the night, a triple shy of the cycle, and getting the Sounds on the board with a home run to right field in the third.

Nashville Sounds blanked by New Orleans Zephyrs 12-0

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds held the New Orleans Zephyrs scoreless through five innings, but were unable to contain the visitor’s hot bats, who scored runs in each of the last four frames en route to shutting out the Sounds, 12-0.

The lone bright spot on the night for the Sounds was starting pitcher Hiram Burgos, who picked up where he left off in 2012 by extending his Triple-A scoreless streak to 17 innings across his last three starts, dating back to August 29th. The right-handed pitcher limited the Zephyrs to two hits through five innings of work, fanning six and walking three.

Nashville Sounds announce Roster for Opening Day

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds – the Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers – have announced their tentative Opening Day 25-man roster, a group highlighted by the Brewers’ 2012 minor league player and pitcher of the year, nine returning players from the 2012 squad, and eight members of Milwaukee’s 40-man roster.

Well-decorated first baseman Hunter Morris advances to Nashville after an outstanding 2012 campaign at Double-A Huntsville, where he netted Southern League MVP honors, a minor league Gold Glove Award, and was named the Brewers’ Robin Yount Performance Award winner as the organization’s player of the year.

Nashville Sounds Overcome Early Four-Run Deficit To Earn Series Split

Nashville SoundsLas Vegas, NV – The Nashville Sounds plated a run in the top of the tenth inning to record a come-from-behind 7-6 victory over the Las Vegas 51s on Thursday evening at Cashman Field in the finale of a four-game series.

With the victory, Nashville (18-28) notched consecutive road wins for the first time all season and gained a sweep of the four-game set with the 51s. The Sounds finished 4-4 on their West Coast road trip.

Nashville Sounds lose 10-3 to Las Vegas 51s Tuesday night

 

Nashville Out-hits 51s Again But Loses For Second Straight Night

Nashville SoundsLas Vegas, NV – The Nashville Sounds’ road woes continued with a 10-3 loss to the Las Vegas 51s on Tuesday evening at Cashman Field.

Las Vegas led the entire way in notching its fourth consecutive victory and handing the Sounds (16-28) their third defeat in the last four nights. Nashville fell to just 6-18 when playing away from Greer Stadium.

Eight of the nine 51s hitters drove in at least one run as Las Vegas plated 10 runs against the Sounds for the second time in two nights. Nashville out-hit the 51s for the second straight contest but left 12 men on base and went just 2-for-14 with runners in scoring position on the night.
