Clarksville-Montgomery County School System selects Norm Brumblay as Chief Operations Officer

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS)Montgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) has selected Norm Brumblay as Chief Operations Officer (COO) beginning December 1st, 2020. He replaces Jim Sumrell who retires at the end of the semester.

Brumblay has been with CMCSS since 2002, serving as the Operations Director and Facilities Manager. In this role, he has acted as the COO designee, supervised the Facilities Department staff and the operation of all school and district facilities, and been responsible for the planning, design, and construction of facilities during his tenure.

Montgomery County Commissioner Rashidah Leverett Initiates Effort to Clean-up Lot by Norman Smith Elementary School

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – A pool sized concrete hole next to Norman Smith Elementary School was recently turned into a safe, green, usable space. District 5 Montgomery County Commissioner Rashidah Leverett took the initiative to make calls inquiring what could be done to make changes to the area shortly after being elected in fall 2018.

Since closing the public pool next to Norman Smith Elementary in August 2015, the empty lot which once contained an active outdoor swimming pool, had fallen into disrepair and became an eyesore to the area.

8th annual Green Certification Banquet to be held September 26th

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification ProgramMontgomery County, TN – The Clarksville Montgomery County Green Certification Program will hold its 8th annual Green Certification Banquet on the evening of September 26th. The Banquet celebrates local organizations that have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to environmental stewardship in our community. This year’s theme is Sustainability in Education.

The Banquet will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center. A social hour, from 5:00pm to 6:00pm, will include recycling games with great prizes provided by local organizations.

Clarksville Montgomery County School System Bus Routes now Accessible Online

County To Save $10 million With Bond Application Approval

 

CMCSSClarksville-Montgomery County School System was selected as one of 28 school districts across Tennessee to receive $20 million in interest free bonds to pay for the renovation of Montgomery Central High School.

The full request was granted to CMCSS, thus saving Montgomery County taxpayers $10 million in interest payments. Of the 28 school districts that applied for the Qualified School Construction Bond Program, 11 were were granted stimulus funding to share in the $120 million available to districts outside Nashville and Memphis.
