Memphis, TN -The Nashville Sounds defeated the Memphis Redbirds 10-4 Tuesday night. The Sounds pounded out a record 19 hits, setting a new team season-high. Zack Granite led the way with four hits.
The Redbirds scored first with two runs in the top of the first inning. The first run was scored on a balk by Joe Palumbo. Andrew Knizner hit an RBI single to get the second run in.
In his first game back on a rehab assignment, Scott Heineman hit a two-run homer to tie the game in the top of the second inning.
Metairie, LA – On Saturday night, the Nashville Sounds dropped the New Orleans Baby Cakes 10-3 at the Shrine on Airline. Nashville’s Andy Ibanez and Carlos Tocci combined for seven hits, four runs and five RBIs in the win. The Sounds totaled a season-high 18 hits and matched their largest margin of victory on the year.
The game was tied 1-1 in the third when Nolan Fontana launched a home run to right field to give the Sounds a lead they never gave away, and they broke open the game with a six-run third off Ben Meyer. Eli White drilled a two-run double, Matt Davidson singled home a run and Ibanez crushed a three-run homer to make it 8-1.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds beat the Salt Lake bees 5-4 in from of 11,622 fans at First Tennessee Park Saturday night. Matt Davidson hit his 200th career home run as a professional to lead the Sounds’ offense.
Eight batters came to the plate for Nashville in the bottom of the first inning. Carlos Tocci led off with a double and would be hit in on an Andy Ibanez single. Willie Calhoun would score on a wild pitch to score the second run. The Sounds would leave the bases loaded but took a 2-0 lead into the second inning.
Nashville, TN – On Wednesday night, Tim Dillard and a trio of Nashville Sounds relievers held the Las Vegas Aviators to two hits to help the Sounds to a 2-0 win in front of 8,994 fans at First Tennessee Park.
Dillard continued his strong 2019 campaign with 5 2/3 shutout innings. He held Las Vegas to just two hits and allowed three walks. The right-hander struck out a pair and earned his fifth win of the season.
Nashville got Dillard a run to work with in the fifth inning. Las Vegas starter Jake Buchanan was tough as well, holding the Sounds to two runs on four hits in six innings.
Tacoma, WA – The Nashville Sounds, powered by Eli White and Patrick Wisdom homers, never trailed Saturday night in 4-2 win over the Tacoma Rainiers at Cheney Stadium. The Sounds have won the first two games of the four-game set and haven’t trailed at any point.
Esmerling Vasquez notched the win in his Sounds debut. He tossed five innings of shutout ball and was the beneficiary when White broke the scoreless tie with a two-out solo homer to left field in the sixth inning off Tyler Cloyd. Then Wisdom led off the seventh with a blast of his own to left off Matt Carasiti to make it 2-0.
Nashville, TN – Nashville Sounds Tyler Pill nails two-run double in the bottom of the seventh to give the team a 6-5 win over New Orleans Baby Cakes Friday night in front of a sellout crowd of 11,097 at First Tennessee Park.
Pill stepped to the plate with the Sounds trailing 5-4 and the bases loaded with two outs in the seventh. He bounced a ball perfectly in between two New Orleans infielders and hustled into second base as Delino DeShields and Eli White scored to give the Sounds a 6-5 lead.
Josh Fields took over for Kyle Bird in the top of the eighth and worked around a one-out hit batter to post a zero. Brett Martin took over for Fields in the ninth and worked around a pair of hits in the ninth to notch his first save of the season.
Round Rock, TX – Monday night at Dell Diamond in Round Rock, the Nashville Sounds were able to score three runs in the ninth inning to tie the game. The Sounds then score 2 runs in the 12th inning to beat Round Rock Express 8-6.
The Sounds came all the way back from a 5-1 deficit and Patrick Wisdom delivered a clutch two-out, two-run single to tie the game at 5-5 in the top of the ninth. Wisdom’s huge base hit came just one day after he delivered a game-tying three-run homer in Nashville’s come-from-behind 9-7 win Sunday afternoon.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds beat the San Antonio Missions in game one 3-1 and lost game two 6-0 in front of 8821 fans at First Tennessee Park Sunday.
Both teams stayed scoreless in game one through the fourth inning. San Antonio threatened for the first time in the top half with runners on first and third base with one out. Nashville’s starter Ariel Jurado managed to get out of the inning with an inning ending double play.
The Missions scored the first run of the game when Mauricio Dubon hit an RBI double to score Nate Orf. Dubon tried scoring on a single by Cory Spangenberg but Zack Granite threw Orf out at the plate to keep the score 1-0.
Nashville Sounds Baseball
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds split a doubleheader against the Albuquerque Isotopes on Sunday evening at Greer Stadium to wrap up a rain-shortened series. The Sounds won the exciting opener, 2-1, and dropped a heart-breaking twinbill finale, 8-5.
Albuquerque took two of three from the Sounds in the rain-shortened series. Nashville split a doubleheader for the fifth time in 2012 and moved to 5-7 overall in doubleheader action.
In the opener, Logan Schafer belted a pair of homers, including a walkoff blast in the seventh inning, to power the Sounds to a 2-1 victory.

Nashville, TN – Outfielder Matt Angle homered and drove three as the visiting Albuquerque Isotopes blanked the Nashville Sounds, 7-0, in the opener of a four-game series on Friday night at Greer Stadium.
The shutout loss was Nashville’s seventh of the season and also snapped a three-game winning streak.
Isotopes starter Fernando Nieve (5-6) allowed four hits over six shutout innings for a quality start and victory.
