Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans and Buffalo Bills contest brings together two of the original teams of the American Football League, founded by two of the visionaries who helped set in motion one of the most significant eras in football history.

It was in 1960 that K.S. “Bud” Adams, Jr.’s then-Houston Oilers and Ralph Wilson, Jr.’s Bills became two of the eight teams that began play in the newly-formed league. Adams, Wilson and the other original AFL owners were dubbed the “Foolish Club” for their choice to accept the seemingly impossible task of competing with the National Football League.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans and the Kansas City Chiefs are historic rivals that played an integral role in the formation of the current NFL landscape.

In 1959, late Titans owner K.S. “Bud” Adams, Jr. and the late Lamar Hunt, founder of the Chiefs, spearheaded the “Foolish Club,” a group of eight original American Football League teams that would begin play in 1960.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs are historic rivals that played an integral role in the formation of the current NFL landscape. In 1959, late Titans owner K.S. “Bud” Adams, Jr. and the late Lamar Hunt, founder of the Chiefs, spearheaded the “Foolish Club,” a group of eight original American Football League teams that would begin play in 1960.

Adams’ Oilers played in Houston until moving to Tennessee in 1997, while Hunt’s original Dallas Texans moved to Kansas City in 1963. In 1970, the AFL and NFL merged, and the Oilers and Chiefs became members of the American Football Conference.

The Redskins defeated the then – Houston Oilers by a final score of 22-13 on October 10th, 1971 in the first of 12 meetings in the regular season.

The series is currently tied 6-6. The Titans have a 3-2 record at home against the Redskins and are 3-4 on the road.

In the most recent Titans-Redskins meeting, played on October 19th, 2014, the Redskins won on a 22-yard field goal by Kai Forbath as time expired in the fourth quarter.

In 33 games, the Titans are 18-15 against the Texans, including an 11-6 mark at Nissan Stadium and a 7-9 record at NRG Stadium.

While the Titans have the advantage in the series and own a two-game winning streak, the Texans have won nine out of the last 13 battles. The Titans broke a five-game winning streak by the Texans in the series in the 2016 season finale at Nissan Stadium. In 2017, they split the series.
