Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Freshman outside hitter Brooke Moore, of the Austin Peay State University football team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

The Louisville native led Austin Peay to its first Ohio Valley Conference Tournament title since 2010, leading the tournament with 48 kills and posting a .305 attack percentage in contests against Southeast Missouri, Eastern Kentucky and Murray State. In the process, she became the first freshman in league history to take tournament MVP honors.

City leaders urge Senators to seek real solutions

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan was part of a select delegation of U.S Conference of Mayors leaders who visited Washington this week to discuss a way forward on key national topics with local implications, including healthcare, infrastructure and tax reform.

The mayors, representing cities across America, emphasized bipartisanship and stressed to lawmakers that policies emerging from Congress should put people first and hopefully will include consultation with mayors and governors.

APSU Women's Basketball - Austin Peay State UniversityBrentwood, TN –  Tearra Banks challenged herself in the offseason entering her final season at Austin Peay State University, gaining motivation to get in shape and become a full-time impact player. She logged countless hours conditioning, knowing this would be her year to develop into a leader and role model.

The transformation from then to now is evident. Banks has been nearly unstoppable throughout this season, averaging 19.3 points and eight rebounds per game, while ranking among the NCAA Division I elite in field goal percentage (60.5 percent) and field goals made (231).

The Govs rolled through doubles taking the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches.

APSU Women's Basketball - Austin Peay State UniversityBrentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball senior center Tearra Banks picks up her third adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week award after a record-tying performance over the weekend.

In Saturday’s 79-63 victory over Tennessee State, Banks made all 11 of her shots from the field to finish at 100 percent, tying the APSU single-game record set by Gerlonda Hardin in 2002, who also went 11-for-11.

APSU Women's Basketball - Austin Peay State UniversityRichmond, KY – Senior center Tearra Banks nearly matched her career-high with 30 points, but her performance wasn’t enough as the Austin Peay State University women’s basketball fell on the road at Eastern Kentucky, 80-71, Wednesday.

Banks’ career-best outing occurred at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, November 21st, where she scored 34 points.

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Senior center Tearra Banks, of the Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Banks picked up her season’s second adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week honor, posting a 23-point, 12-rebound effort in the Governors home win against rival Murray State, Saturday. It was her season’s seventh double-double and the 14th of her Austin Peay career.
