Nashville Predators hit the jackpot with win over Las Vegas Golden Knights 2-1

Nashville PredatorsLas Vegas, NV – The Nashville Predators rolled into Las Vegas tonight and defeated the Golden Knights, 2-1. Getting the two points was just what the doctor ordered before the NHL takes it’s annual All-Star break this weekend.

Vegas got on the board first at 8:03 of the first period when Max Pacioretty took a pass from Alex Tuch and buried the puck past Nashville goalie, Juuse Saros for the 1-0 lead.

The teams remained tied after the first period of play with Vegas outshooting the Predators 18-13, but Saros stood tall in net to keep the Predators close.

Nashville Predators Defeat Las Vegas Golden Knights 1-0 Behind Saros’ Shutout

Nashville PredatorsClarksville, TN – The Nashville Predators finally broke through against the Las Vegas Golden Knights behind Juuse Saros’ shutout performance, 1-0.  Nashville had lost to the Knights in their previous two meetings, but Saros stepped up and closed the door, stopping 43 shots.  This was his third shutout of the season.

Nashville was returning from their bye week, and while they showed some signs of “rust,” Saros was fresh and ready, having played three games with Milwaukee last week.  Head coach Peter Laviolette’s decision to give starting goaltender Pekka Rinne extra rest, paid off big time for the Predators.

Nashville Predators Lose 3-0 to Vegas Golden Knights

Nashville PredatorsClarksville, TN – The Nashville Predators just don’t have the Vegas Golden Knights figured out.  Whether it’s in Nashville, or Las Vegas, the uptempo game pushed by Vegas is just too much for the Predators.

Las Vegas had the best record in the NHL for the month of December, going 11-1-1.  They sit atop the Western Conference and obviously they haven’t been told they’re an expansion team, and this style of hockey just isn’t played by expansion teams.

But it seems to be working, whatever formula they’re following, because tonight they put another dominating performance on Nashville, for the 3-0 shutout.
