The November 2014 issue of ShopSmart, from Consumer Reports, highlights results from its taste-tests of whole-bean, ground, and pod coffees in which brews from Folgers and Maxwell House didn’t stand up to offerings from specialty brands including Allegro, Peet’s, and Starbucks.

Senior guard Whitney Hanley was named to the league’s preseason all-conference squad.

Austin Peay Governors Basketball picked to win Ohio Valley Conference

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Coming off a 20-win season and returning four starters, Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team has been picked to win the 2011-12 Ohio Valley Conference championship in a vote of league coaches and sports information directors.

In addition, returning first-team All-OVC selection TyShwan Edmondson and junior forward Anthony Campbell, a second-team All-OVC selection in 2009-10 before a knee injury felled him a year ago, have been named preseason All-OVC.

That was announced Tuesday at OVC Media Day, held at the Maxwell House in Nashville.

Consumer ReportsYonkers, NY – Consumer Reports brewed over 1,000 cups of coffee to deem two new champs among Colombian varietals in the latest issue available on newsstands today. Gloria Jean’s Colombian Supremo Medium Roast and Newman’s Own Organics Colombian Especial Medium Roast beat Consumer Reports top pick from the March 2009 report, Eight O’Clock Coffee.
