West Creek Coyotes Ground Northeast Eagles 60-50 in District 10-AAA Tournament Quarterfinals

 

West Creek High School Coyotes - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – For the West Creek Coyotes, the District 10-AAA Boys Basketball Tournament Quarterfinal match up against the Northeast Eagles Friday Night at home was a tale of two halves.

After scoring only 15 points in the first half, the West Creek Coyotes exploded for a 20-point third period, and went on to outscore the Eagles 45 to 29 in the second half to get the win, 60-50.

Jachin Almon leads West Creek Coyotes to District 10-AAA Win over Northeast Eagles

 

West Creek High School Coyotes - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Jachin Almon scored 20 of his total 25 points in the second half to lead his Coyotes over the Northeast Eagles in a District 10-AAA showdown at Northeast High School Tuesday night, February 4th.

Both teams started slow. At halftime the Coyotes led by only two points, 17-15.

The score remained close until less than four minutes in the third period. Eagle Jaylyn Thorpe made a 3-pointer at 3:58 to give his team a 24-22 lead. However, Almon responded with back-to-back baskets including one from downtown as part of a Coyote 8-0 run to finish the period.

Northeast High Eagles use defensive in 64-40 blowout win over Springfield Yellowjackets

 

Northeast High School EaglesClarksville, TN – After dropping two District 10-AAA road games last week, Northeast High School went old-school January 20th at home in the Eagles Nest, as they hounded the Springfield High School Yellowjackets for 32 minutes and came away with a 64-40 victory.

Northeast (9-11, 4-4 District 10-AAA) trailed only once, 4-2, that coming in the first 46 seconds of the game, but from then on it was pretty much all Eagles, as their defensive pressure and trapping took Springfield out of any type of offense set that it was planning to run.

Northeast High School Eagles Outrun the Gallatin Green Wave 27-14, Advances to Semifinals

It is a simple formula for success for the Northeast Eagles and on Friday night in playoff quarterfinal action at Gallatin, the Eagles used it again to overpower the Gallatin Green Wave 27-14.

Dontavious Merriweather and Montrell Pardue provided a potent one-two punch on the ground for the Eagles that the Green Wave could not contain.

Clarksville Northeast High School Eagles Overcome District 10-AAA Rival Northwest Vikings 54-8

 

Northeast High School EaglesNorthwest High School VikingsClarksville, TN – It was homecoming night at Northwest High School. However, it was the visiting Northeast Eagles who played like they were at home Friday night, soaring past the Vikings for a 54-8 victory.

Northeast Eagles Montrell Pardue and Dontavious Fort combined to score five first quarter touchdowns, establishing a commanding 34-0 lead. The Eagles speedy defense made sure the Vikings could not mount a comeback, creating four turnovers in the game.

Rossview High School Football wins Showdown Shootout against Northeast High School 37-34

Clarksville's Rossview High School HawksClarksville Northeast High School EaglesClarksville, TN – In a game between cross-town rivals that lived up to it’s hype, the Rossview Hawks’ Charles Talleyrand hit wide receiver Dominic Stancescu for a 46 yard touchdown pass with just over a minute to play to put Rossview ahead, and the Hawks’ David Ross intercepted a last ditch effort pass from Northeast quarterback Montrell Pardue to seal the win 37-34.

In one of the most entertaining games of the season, with the score tied 21-21 going into the 4th quarter, Rossview used an 11 play 78 yard drive to score their second straight touchdown and pull ahead 28-21.

Northeast High School Football opens season with 48-31 win over Centennial

Northeast High School EaglesClarksville, TN – The Northeast Eagles opened up their 2013 football season with a convincing home victory over Centennial 48-31.

Although the Eagles ground game exploded for close to 500 yards rushing and 6 touchdowns on the night, it was the defense that set the tone early.

Northeast held the Cougars to 3 downs on their first possession, and on the ensuing punt, Northeast return man, Eric Webster, fumbled the punt and Centennial recovered at the Northeast 15 yard line.
