City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan attended a student voter registration event at Austin Peay State University on Tuesday and thanked the sponsors for their work, which will continue at similar events planned for Friday and Saturday.

Clarksville Indivisible and student groups will conduct a voter registration drive from 10:00am to 2:00pm Friday, September 28th, 2018 in the University Center on campus Friday.

New Providence Community Policing Center Donates Bicycle to Northwest High School student Shawntae Nelson

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The New Providence Community Policing Center (NPCPC) is at it again! Another brand new bicycle has been donated.

In November of last year, the Clarksville Police Department posted the following—on Thursday November 12th, 2015, Mark Baggett and his son Neil Baggett, co-owners of Riverside Bicycle Shop in Clarksville, donated a bike from their shop to support the efforts of the NPCPC.

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department Explorers are hosting an Open House event on Monday, February 22nd, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the New Providence Community Policing Center at 640 Providence Boulevard.

The Explorer Program is designed to be a career-based hands-on program and each young person is given as much hands-on Police training as possible.

Jaquez Willis is on a mission to earn his High School Diploma

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Jaquez Willis is on a mission. His determination to earn his high school diploma is so great that he walks seven miles from his home near Northwest High School in Clarksville, Tennessee to the Continuing Education Center on Greenwood Avenue where he is enrolled in Adult Education.

Then he walks seven miles home. Day after day, his goal gets a little closer and the hope in his heart grows a little bigger.

Clarksville’s New Providence Community Policing Center, Clarksville Police Department and APSU Officers give a Bicycle to a Family in Need

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Monday, November 24th, 2014 at approximately 10:30am, Clarksville Police Officer Jeff Derico representing the New Providence Community Policing Center (NPCPC) presented a bicycle to Ms. Larissa Taylor, which is for her 17-year-old daughter, Tyler Yoho.

Officer Charyl Ramsey, from the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Campus Police, contacted Officer Derico to see if Taylor’s daughter qualified for a bicycle.

Manna Café Hosts Thanksgiving Day Dinner

New Providence Community Policing Center to hold Job Fairs September 25th and 26th

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Thursday, September 25th, Convergys and White Staffing will be at the New Providence Community Policing Center Job Fair from 10:00am until 1:00pm.

Convergys seeks to fill 100 customer service sales positions in Clarksville. Pay rate is $9.50/hour. Convergys also has an “Experience is Education” program that allows individuals who do not have a high school diploma or GED to work while pursuing their educational goals.

Clarksville Police Department participates in Child Passenger Safety Week

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recognizes Child Passenger Safety Week as September 14th-20th, 2014.

According to the CDC, car seat use reduces the risk for death to infants (aged <1 year) by 71%, and to toddlers (aged 1–4 years) by 54% in passenger vehicles. Further, misuse rates for child restraints nationally are as high as 85%.
