Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – To protect public health and align with federal, state, and local guidance to the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area (LBL) officials have announced the temporary shutdown of facilities, campgrounds, and developed camping areas for the safety of visitors and staff.
These measures are temporary but effective immediately. A date for reopening recreation areas is currently undetermined.
Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area’s 2017 spring squirrel hunting season will open May 13th – June 11th, in Tennessee and May 20th – June 16th, in Kentucky.
Hunters must have a valid Kentucky or Tennessee state hunting license for the state in which they are hunting. Hunters age 16 and older must also have a Land Between the Lakes Hunter Use Permit. These are available online, 24/7 at www.landbetweenthelakes.us/reservations
Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Small game hunting season opens at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area beginning December 1st, 2016. Season dates and regulations differ from state-wide dates and regulations.

Land Between the Lakes, KY/TN – Visitor facilities at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area began late fall and winter operation schedules in November.
Homeplace 1850s Working Farm and Woodlands Nature Station will offer various guided programs, including the popular Bald Eagle Van and River Cruise Tours. Starting November 25th, Planetarium visitors will experience vivid laser lights set to holiday music and other holiday shows digitally projected on a 40-foot dome. Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area will host a volunteer trail maintenance day to celebrate National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 27th, from 9:00am-12:00pm. To sign up, volunteers can call 270.924.2007 or email
Everyone will meet at the North Welcome Station at 9:00am. Volunteers are asked to bring lunch, snacks, and a water bottle. Bug spray, tools, and additional water will be provided by Friends of Land Between The Lakes.
Golden Pond, Ky – Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area invites the public to join them on a walking tour of the Pisgah Bay Project Area. The tour will begin at the North Welcome Station, rain or shine, at 8:00am on Thursday, May 22nd, 2014. Vehicles will caravan from there to tour areas where similar treatments have been implemented. Interested public are advised to wear walking shoes and bring their own snacks, water, tick repellant, and sunscreen.

Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area began its 2014 operations today, Saturday, March 1st, by opening several popular visitor attractions.
The Homeplace, Woodlands Nature Station, and North and South Welcome Stations opened their doors March 1st, along with Energy Lake, Hillman Ferry, and Piney Campgrounds. The Homeplace, Woodlands Nature Station, and North and South Welcome Stations will be open Wednesday through Sunday during March, then open seven days a week beginning April 1st.
Golden Pond, KY – For the 2014 season, Land Between The Lakes (LBL) will accept the Military Pass for free admission, Monday through Friday, to The Homeplace, Golden Pond Planetarium, and Woodlands Nature Station.
The Military Pass will admit the pass holder plus three other individuals free of charge to these facilities weekdays only. Free admission will not be granted during any special event by using the Military Pass.

All hunters, age 16 and older, must have an LBL Hunter Use Permit, an appropriate state license, and observe LBL rules and applicable state laws regarding hunting zones and safety precautions.
