Second Lady Karen Pence Highlights Suicide Prevention, Youth Programs in Omaha, Nebraska

 

The White HouseOmaha, NE – Second Lady Karen Pence, joined by Congressman Don Bacon and Mrs. Angie Bacon, visited Boys Town to highlight the work the organization is doing to support and transform the lives of children in the Omaha area.

Upon arriving, they received an overview of the organization which included hearing from the organization’s leadership about the work they do to provide care, treatment, and education to at-risk youth.

Nashville Sounds strike quick in win over Omaha Storm Chasers

 

Nashville SoundsOmaha, NE – The Nashville Sounds got an 8-4 win Thursday night against the Omaha Storm Chasers. Nashville’s Matt Davidson launched his 32nd home run in the season to lead the Sounds’ offense.

Five of the Sounds’ runs were scored in the first inning. Zack Granite scored the first run on a wild pitch. Patrick Wisdom hit a two-run single. Davidson launched his two-run homer to cap off the first inning, giving the Sounds a 5-0 lead early.

Another run was scored by Nashville in the top of the third inning. Tim Federowicz hit an RBI single to extend the lead 6-0.

Nashville Sounds roll over Omaha Storm Chasers, 6-1

 

Nashville SoundsOmaha, NE – The Nashville Sounds took down the Omaha Storm Chasers Wednesday night at Werner Park, 6-1. Nashville’s Matt Davidson and Jett Bandy hit back-to-back home runs and Wes Benjamin logged another quality start to lead the Sounds to victory.

One night after reaching safely all five times, Davidson stayed locked in at the plate with this 31st home run of the season and three more RBI to bring his total to 94. He had two of Nashville’s 14 hits against Omaha pitching.

Davidson helped the Sounds build an early lead when his double into the left-center gap in the top of the first scored Andy Ibanez and Patrick Wisdom to make it a 2-0 game.

Nashville Sounds falter at Omaha Storm Chasers, 8-5

 

Nashville SoundsOmaha, NE – Nashville Sounds fall to the Omaha Storm Chasers 8-5 Tuesday night at Werner Park.  The Storm Chasers collected five hits – including three triples – off Nashville starter Tim Dillard in the opening inning to jump out to an early four run lead.

Adalberto Mondesi, Chase d’Arnaud and Erich Weiss had triples and Rudy Martin added a double as the Storm Chasers opened an early 4-0 lead.

Nashville got a run back in the second and trimmed the deficit to 4-1 when Jett Bandy lined a two-out single to right-center to score Matt Davidson.

Nashville Sounds shutout by Omaha Storm Chasers, 5-0

 

Nashville SoundsOmaha, NE – The Nashville Sounds struggled to get their offense going in their series opener against the Omaha Storm Chasers. Arnaldo Hernandez held Nashville to just one hit, as the Storm Chasers shut out the Sounds 5-0.

That one hit came in the first inning, when Andy Ibanez hit a double. But Hernandez pitched masterfully, retiring the next 11 batters. Hernandez would walk Jett Bandy in the fifth inning before retiring the rest of the batters he faced.

Omaha scored enough to win the game in the first inning. They scored one run when Rudy Martin launched a solo home run to lead off the game for the Storm Chasers.

Nashville Sounds fade against Omaha Storm Chasers, 10-5

 

Nashville SoundsOmaha, NE – The Nashville Sounds lost 10-5 Sunday afternoon and was officially swept by the Omaha Storm Chasers. It was a close game through the first half of the game until Omaha pulled away from Nashville.

The first lead of the series for Nashville was taken in the first inning when Christian Lopes singled to score Scott Heineman. Omaha came back in the bottom of the first inning with two runs. They scored twice with the bases loaded when Jorge Bonifacio was hit by a pitch and Bubba Starling walked in a run to put Omaha up 2-1.

Nashville Sounds blown away by Omaha Storm Chasers, 11-3

 

Nashville SoundsOmaha, NE – The Omaha Storm Chasers jumped up on top of the Nashville Sounds with eight runs in the first inning and never looked back in 11-3 win Saturday night.

The eight-run inning in the first came on seven hits. Jorge Bonifacio hit a single with the bases loaded to score the first run. Two more runs scored on a Nick Dini single. Jecksson Flores hit an RBI single to add another. Humberto Arteaga would knock in two more with a single. The remaining base runs scored on an Erick Mejia triple to give Omaha the early 8-0 lead.

Nashville Sounds game at Iowa Cubs postponed due to Weather

Nashville SoundsDes Moines, IA – The 12:08pm game scheduled today between the Nashville Sounds and Iowa Cubs has been postponed due to rough weather.

The two teams will make up the game when the Sounds return to Iowa in July. Further details on the exact makeup date will be released later.

Nashville and Iowa will continue the now three-game series on Thursday night at 6:38pm. Following the series in Des Moines, the Sounds travel to Omaha, Nebraska for a four-game set before returning home on April 25th.

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUOmaha, NE – Infielder Garrett Copeland of Austin Peay State University’s baseball team has been named one of 32 semifinalists for the 2015 Gregg Olson Award, presented to college baseball’s breakout player of the year.

Copeland, of Bartlett, Tennessee, continued to be one of Austin Peay’s most dependable players during his sophomore campaign.

Nashville Sounds Extend Partnership With 102.5 FM “The Game”

 

102.5 FM Will Continue To Broadcast Nashville Baseball Games; Former Major Leaguer Kevin Jarvis To Join Announce Team

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club is excited to announce an extension of its partnership with 102.5 “The Game” (WPRT-FM) as the team’s flagship station for game broadcasts during the 2015 season.

The Game, which has served as the team’s flagship station since 2012, will air all of the Sounds’ 144 games over the airwaves with nearly all on 102.5 FM and select games on 94.9 FM “Game 2” in 2015.

“We are pleased to continue our relationship with The Game,” said Sounds COO Garry Arthur. “It is important to us to align with a partner who shares our excitement for the opening of First Tennessee Park and can carry all of the games on a station that focuses on sports programming.”
