Austin Peay announces Pairings for August 4th APSU Governors Golf Classic

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Pairings have been announced for Friday’s Austin Peay State University/Echo Power Engineering Governors Golf Classic fundraiser, presented by Hand Family Companies and the APSU Governors Club, is set for August 4th, 2017 at the Clarksville Country Club and Swan Lake Golf Course.

New this year is a Women’s Division, which includes breakfast at the course courtesy of Bojangles, teeing off at 8:00am at the Clarksville Country Club. The Open Division – lunch included, with Dairy Queen provided on the course – tees off at 12:30pm from both courses.

The annual event serves a fundraiser to support student-athletes through scholarships, facility improvements and academic support. Teams can register for the four-player, best-ball scramble for $400.00, with hole sponsorships (which include both course) available for $500.00.

The annual event serves a fundraiser to support student-athletes through scholarships, facility improvements and academic support.

Teams can register for the four-player, best-ball scramble for $400.00, with hole sponsorships (which include both course) available for $500.00. Hole sponsors and players who register entire teams can designate which program they want their money to go toward.

Nashville Zoo to hold Run Run 5K January 24th

 

Nashville ZooNashville, TN – A herd of runners, walkers and strollers will make their way through Nashville Zoo during the 2015 Zoo Run Run on Saturday, January 24th. The annual 5K race takes participants past favorite habitats, like Kangaroo Kickabout and Flamingo Lagoon, and along roads and trails not normally accessed by the public.

Nashville Zoo will close to the public at 1:00pm on January 24th to prepare for the Zoo Run Run.  Registration and check-in begins at 1:30pm, and the race starts at 3:00pm.

Clarksville Police Department releases Alcoholic Beverage Commission Operation results from December 4th, 2014

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Thursday, December 4th, 2014, Alcohol Beverage Control Agents (ABC) of the Clarksville Police Departments Special Operations Unit conducted operations targeting sales of alcohol to underage persons.

Compliance checks were conducted at eleven restaurants. Nine restaurants were found to be in compliance and two restaurants were cited for sales of alcohol to underage persons. Agents Nathan Lee and Ryan Steinlage are the lead investigators. Operations targeting illegal sales of alcohol to underage persons are ongoing. «Read the rest of this article»

The Power of Women at Customs House Museum

 

The Customs House Museum and Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – Customs House Museum celebrated Women’s History Month with The Power of Women on Saturday, March 17th. The day featured fabulous food, original jewelry, artworks, poetry, music and advice on investing, beauty, estate planning, and owning your own business.

The Choppin’ Block, represented by Jennifer Davis and Brenda Sykes, began the day with a brunch fit for a queen. In addition to juice and Mimosas, the buffet held French toast casserole; an egg-spinach-mushroom-onion casserole; petite Danishes; mixed berry, blueberry and strawberry muffins; and array of fresh fruits including grapes, orange slices, strawberries, honey dew melon, and cantaloupe. An entire room on the second floor of the museum was dedicated to getting to know the other participants while enjoying a delicious feast.

Winds damage Sign

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – Early morning winds damaged the Outback Steakhouse sign. Clarksville Police Officers arrived around 9:08am and stayed several hours until a crane out of Kentucky arrived and straightened it out.
