APSU BaseballClarksville, TN – Center fielder Garrett Spain picked the perfect time to hit his first collegiate home run, his eighth-inning blast giving the Austin Peay State University (APSU) baseball team a 12-11 come-from-behind win against Lipscomb, Tuesday, on Joe and Cathi Maynard Field at Raymond C. Hand Park.

Charles Hand, Chairman of the Board of Hand Family Companies, has a history of taking care of the environment. For decades, Hand has been doing his part to keep our community clean. His actions carried over to his family businesses when the Company began participating in the Adopt-A-Highway Program in the early 1990s, and the efforts have been growing ever since.

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Charles Hand, chairman and CEO of Hand Family Companies and long-time supporter of Austin Peay State University’s athletics programs, was inducted into the Red Coat Society, Saturday night during halftime ceremonies of the APSU-Eastern Illinois basketball game.

In its 10th year, the Red Coat Society serves as a Hall of Fame of service for the Governors Club, APSU’s Athletics booster club.

Charles Hand to be inducted into Austin Peay Governors Club’s Red Coat Society, Saturday

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Charles Hand, chairman and CEO of Hand Family Companies and long-time supporter of Austin Peay State University’s athletics programs, will be inducted into the Red Coat Society, Saturday.

The Red Coat Society, now in its 10th year, serves as a Hall of Fame of service for the Governors Club, APSU’s Athletics booster club. This year’s ceremony will take place during halftime of the Governors’ 7:30pm basketball game with Eastern Illinois.

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay will play a pair of non-conference contests during the upcoming week, hosting Evansville in a 6:00pm, Tuesday contest at Raymond C. Hand Park before traveling to Middle Tennessee for a 6:00pm, Wednesday contest at Reese Smith Jr. Field in Murfreesboro TN.

Ribbon cutting opens Raymond C. Hand Pass bridge, and 1.2 mile greenway expansion

 

Clarksville GreenwayClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville held a ribbon cutting today,opening of the scenic  600 foot long pedestrian bridge, and an additional 1.2 miles of walking trails on the Clarksville Greenway. The opening brings the trails to a total of 4.8 miles, with plans already underway to continue the expansion all the way to Heritage Park.

The bridge was made possible through a $250,000 donation given by the Charles Hand Family. During the ceremony Mayor Johnny Piper announced that the bridge would be known as the Raymond C. Hand Pass.
