Montgomery County Parks and Recreation wins National Award for Rotary Park’s Accessible Trail addition

 

Montgomery County TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Parks and Recreation Department was recently nationally recognized by the Coalition for Recreational Trails (CRT) with an award for the Rotary Park Phase II Accessible Trail.

Nine trail projects from across the country were chosen by the CRT as recipients of its Tom Petri Annual Achievement Awards. This award is in recognition for their outstanding use of Recreational Trails Program (RTP) funds.

Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam Awards $120,000 Trails Program Grant to the City of Clarksville

 

Five Additional Recreational Trails Program Grants Announced

The Seal of the State of TennesseeNashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and Environment and Conservation Commissioner Bob Martineau today awarded an additional $547,000 in grants for recreational trail projects across Tennessee. $120,000 was awarded to the City of Clarksville to connect Mary’s Oak Trail Head and the 101st Pedestrian Bridge through Heritage Park.

“These grants help local governments and organizations improve amenities such as trails, greenways and recreational facilities that contribute so much to a better community and quality of life,” Haslam said.  “The grants will help make Tennessee’s incredible natural beauty and outdoors more accessible to Tennesseans.” «Read the rest of this article»

Recreational Trails Program Grants included efforts in Montgomery County

The Seal of the State of TennesseeNashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and Environment and Conservation Commissioner Bob Martineau today awarded $565,000 in Recreational Trails Program grants to recipients across Tennessee.

Montgomery County will receive $120,000 for the Phase II construction of an ADA-accessible boardwalk trail.
