APSU’s Phi Alpha Theta students perform well at regional history conference

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Dr. Stephen Carls, professor and chair of the department of history at Union University, and Peeps go way back.

Besides just enjoying the spongy yellow candies, Carls can appreciate a bit of shared history as both Peeps and Union’s Phi Alpha Theta (PAT) history honor society chapter, which he has served as advisor for since 1983, were founded the same year: 1953.

Late Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy David Johnson honored with Three Stars of Tennessee Award

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSONashville, TN – Late Deputy David “Bubba” Johnson was awarded the Three Stars of Tennessee Award this morning at the War Memorial Auditorium. Johnson’s wife, Jennifer and daughter, Shelby, accepted the award, and several members of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were also in attendance.

Sheriff John Fuson nominated Deputy Johnson to receive this award earlier this year. His public safety career spanned three decades with Montgomery County EMS, Clarksville Police Department and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Bryan Green of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office graduates from The Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOMontgomery County, TN – Along with Tennessee Law Enforcement Academy class 1724, Deputy Bryan Green graduated from the academy today.

After several weeks of field training, Green will serve on patrol with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

“Deputy Green has served the MCSO since November 2010 after joining the reserve program,” said Sheriff John Fuson. “He was recognized as 2012 reserve deputy of the year, and we’re happy to now welcome him to our ranks full-time.”Green retired as a Chief Warrant Officer Four in the Army after 25 years of service.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office celebrates Deputy’s retirement

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – His colleagues know him for his laid-back demeanor, his intimidating stature and his Barry White-esque voice on the radio, but mostly, they know Andy Lowery as one of the most professional Deputies they’ve ever worked with.

“He’s the most professional man I’ve had the pleasure of working with,” said Sgt. Robert Boone.
