Rossview Lady Hawks smother Kenwood Lady Knights, 57-31

 

Rossview High School HawksServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – After a slow start, the Rossview Lady Hawks (11-4, 6-0) defense clamped down on the Kenwood Lady Knights (5-12, 2-4) at Kenwood High School and ended their week with a 57-31 victory.

This was the Lady Hawks third win in the last four games. They are undefeated in district play. The Lady Knights were held to a season low in points. Although, it took more than a quarter for the Lady Hawks defense to settle in.

“We usually are a fast starting team. I don’t know what was wrong with us tonight. We just weren’t locked in defensively like we normally are to start the game,” Rossview Lady Hawks head coach Justin Woods said.

Montgomery County High School BasketballClarksville, TN – High school basketball in Tennessee officially came to a close Saturday, March 15th when the Blackman Blaze (28-6) defeated Oak Ridge to win the boys Class AAA state title.

The win came just one week after the Blackman Lady Blaze (34-1) defeated Ridgeway to capture the girls Class AAA state title. The wins marked the sixth time a school has swept both state titles.

Rossview Lady Hawks Win In Overtime, 52-47, Advance to State Tournament Semifinals

 

Rossview High School HawksMurfreesboro, TN – The Rossview Lady Hawks are soaring.

With a 52-47 overtime win over the Morristown West Lady Trojans Wednesday morning at MTSU’s Murphy Center in their first State Tournament appearance, the Lady Hawks have soared to the State Semifinals.

The lead changed five times in regulation. The teams were tied 34-34 going into the last quarter, and with 26 seconds left in the game, the Lady Trojans led 45-43.

Rossview Lady Hawks Come From Behind to Stun Overton, 56-54, Advance to State Tournament

 

Rossview High School HawksNashville, TN – The Rossview Lady Hawks overcame an eight point deficit in the final period to defeat the Overton Lady Bobcats, 56-54, at Overton High School Saturday, March 1st, and advance to the State Tournament.

On her birthday, Lady Hawk Karle Pace scored eight points in the final period, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 31 seconds left on the clock.

Rossview Lady Hawks Fall to Lady Bears, Take Second Place in Region 5-AAA Tournament

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – On paper, the Rossview Lady Hawks and the Mt. Juliet Lady Bears look a lot alike. They both have smothering defenses, smart guards and a dominating post game.

As a result, the Region 5-AAA Tournament Championship game at Rossview Wednesday, February 26th, a showdown between two district number one seeds, came down to which team executed their game better.

Rossview Lady Hawks Make History, Advance to Region 5-AAA Championship Game

They were the first Lady Hawks basketball team to earn the regular season district title. Then, they went on to be the first Lady Hawks’ team to win the District Tournament Championship.

After beating the Beech Lady Buccaneers, 57-49, Monday, February 24th at home, they became the first Lady Hawks’ team in school history to advance to the Region 5-AAA Tournament Championship game.

Rossview Lady Hawks Defeat Lebanon 56-39, Advance to Region 5-AAA Semifinals

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – It is no secret the Rossview Lady Hawks potent offense goes through the post and the Lebanon Lady Blue Devils executed a solid plan to slow down the Lady Hawks post game. However, the Lady Hawks proved their defense is equally as potent and took advantage of Devilette turnovers to win their Region 5-AAA quarterfinal matchup against Lebanon Friday night at Rossview High School, 56-39.

“It was a physical game. I thought we got knocked around a little bit. This time of year, it’s kind of what you expect,“ Lady Hawks head coach Justin Woods said. “We have hung our hat on our defense all year. I didn’t think tonight was our best defensive effort, but we got enough stops, turned those stops into transition baskets, to pull it out tonight.”

Rossview High School Lady Hawks Win Home Opener 56-37 Against Gallatin Lady Green Wave

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – Senior Lady Hawk Janie White scored 27 points in the Lady Hawk’s home opening 56-37 victory over the Gallatin Lady Wave.

White was one of eight Lady Hawks to score in the game. The Hawks used their superior size to score primarily in the post and dominate the boards, creating second chance scoring opportunities.

“I thought we came out and set the tone early. We jumped on them with our pressure a little bit,“ Lady Hawks head coach Justin Woods said. “We were able to create the tempo that we wanted. We like to get up and down the floor. We were pitching the ball ahead and banging it inside, and the girls were finishing.”
