Nashville, TN – Starting pitcher Hiram Burgos tossed six shutout innings of four-hit ball as the Nashville Sounds handed the division-rival Iowa Cubs a 3-0 shutout defeat on Wednesday night at Greer Stadium.
The shutout victory was Nashville’s PCL co-leading 12th of the season.
The 24-year-old Burgos (2-2) struck out four and walked zero in his fifth quality start in seven PCL outings.
Tyler Thornburg Earns Second Win For Nashville
Nashville, TN – Sean Halton and Taylor Green each belted a three-run homer to power the Nashville Sounds to a 7-3 victory over the division-rival Iowa Cubs on Tuesday evening at Greer Stadium.
The win was the fourth in the last five games for Nashville (65-73). In the contest, the Sounds’ two through five hitters combined to go 9-for-13 with seven RBIs and seven runs scored.
Seth McClung Authors Solid Start, Eric Farris Belts First Homer Of Year In Victory
Nashville, TN – Nashville Sounds right-hander Seth McClung worked his team-leading sixth quality start and Eric Farris belted his first home run of the year to lead the Sounds to a 4-3 win over division-rival Iowa Cubs on a sweltering Saturday evening at Greer Stadium, where game time temperature was 104 degrees.
With the victory, Nashville (34-49) pulled even with Iowa into a second-place tie in the PCL American Conference Northern Division, the Sounds’ highest point in the standings all season. Both clubs trail first-place Omaha Storm Chasers by 17.5 games, however.
The win was Nashville’s league-leading 18th one-run victory of the season.

Des Moines, IA – The Nashville Sounds split a doubleheader with the division-rival Iowa Cubs on Friday night at Principal Park, dropping the opener, 5-4, and winning the nightcap by a score of 6-0.
Nashville (23-38) moved to 2-4 on the season in doubleheader action with the split and collected their sixth shutout of the season in the doubleheader finale.
Nashville took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth of the nightcap as outfielder Logan Schafer and first baseman Sean Halton drew one-out walks off Iowa starter Ryan Rowland-Smith. After an Andy Gonzalez single, shortstop Hainley Statia hit an RBI groundout to the shortstop to bring home Shafer.

Des Moines, IA – Left-fielder Ty Wright belted a go-ahead, two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Iowa Cubs a 5-4 victory over the Nashville Sounds in the opener of a six-game series on Thursday night at Principal Park.
With the Sounds leading 4-3 entering the bottom of the eighth, Josh Vitters hit a one-out single off Mike McClendon (2-3) before Wright went deep on the following play.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to post a 3-1 victory over the Oklahoma City RedHawks on Friday evening at Greer Stadium in the opener of a four-game series.
With the win, the Sounds (19-28) continued their recent strong play at home, notching the sixth victory in the club’s last eight contests at Greer.
Oklahoma City took a 1-0, first-inning lead against Sounds starter Frankie De La Cruz. Anderson Hernandez singled with one out and later scored on Drew Locke’s two-out RBI double to right-center.
Tacoma, WA – The Nashville Sounds split a doubleheader with the Tacoma Rainiers on Thursday evening at Cheney Stadium, dropping the first game, 4-1, and taking the nightcap, 3-2.
Nashville (17-29) avoided a series sweep with the victory in the doubleheader finale, and finished 4-4 on the eight-game road trip.
Sounds starter Sam Narron (3-1) continued his strong pitching in the nightcap for the victory. The left-hander tossed his third consecutive quality start, giving up two runs on five hits with six strikeouts over six innings pitched.
Mike Strasinger, Nashville Sounds
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds lost to the Oklahoma City RedHawks, 6-5, on Thursday night at Greer Stadium to earn a four-game split.
First baseman Koby Clemens led the charge for Oklahoma City, hitting a home run with four RBIs in the contest.
Left-hander Chase Wright (0-1) began with two scoreless innings in relief in his 2011 Sounds debut, but ran into trouble in the top of the ninth inning. Wright allowed a hit sandwiched between two walks to load the bases, and then an RBI infield-groundout by Clemons for the go-ahead run.
Nashville Pitchers Lower Team ERA To 2.08 For Season
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds continued their winning ways on Wednesday afternoon at Greer Stadium, posting a 6-1 victory over the Oklahoma City RedHawks in the third game of a four-game series.
With the win, the Sounds (5-2) notched a winning record during their opening homestand, which concludes tomorrow evening.
