Austin Peay State University Women’s Basketball defeats Morehead State, earns spot in OVC Tournament

 

APSU Women's BasketballClarksville, TN – The night started with the Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s basketball team honoring a trio of seniors in the Dunn Center on Senior Night; the night ended with that same trio of seniors punching their fourth-straight ticket to the Ohio Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Championship, as the Governors outlasted Morehead State, 70-65, Thursday.

Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball downs Ole Miss 77-66 on Senior Night

 

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – The Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team prevailed over an upset-minded Ole Miss team on Thursday, taking a 77-66 win on Senior Night at Thompson-Boling Arena. 

Junior Rennia Davis was Tennessee’s (19-9, 9-6 SEC) high scorer, recording her 28th career double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds.  Freshman Tamari Key and sophomore Rae Burrell were also in double figures, with Key scoring a career high of 17 points and Burrell finishing with 14 in the final regular-season home game of the 2019-20 campaign. 

Ole Miss (7-21, 0-15 SEC) was led by Deja Cage and Mimi Reid, who posted 22 and 21 points, respectively.

Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball gets 67-63 win over Vanderbilt

 

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – The Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team held off in-state rival Vanderbilt on Sunday afternoon, winning in Thompson-Boling Arena, 67-63.
 
Junior forward Rennia Davis led Tennessee (18-9, 8-6 SEC), posting a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman guard Jordan Horston was close behind with 16 points, while sophomore forward Rae Burrell finished with 12 points and nine rebounds.
 
Chelsie Hall and Mariella Fasoula were the high scorers for Vanderbilt (13-14, 3-11 SEC) with 20 and 18, respectively.

#5 Tennessee Vols roll over Mississippi State, 71-54

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – No. 5 Tennessee Vols used a fast second-half start to power past Mississippi State on Senior Night at Thompson-Boling Arena, 71-54.
 
Heading into its final game of the regular season Saturday at Auburn, Tennessee remains in a tie atop the Southeastern Conference standings.
 
Leading by six points at halftime, Tennessee (27-3, 15-2 SEC) used a 17-4 run to open the second half and create a comfortable, 19-point lead, capped by a Jalen Johnson 3-pointer from the left wing. The Bulldogs (21-9, 9-8) never drew closer than 14 points after the Vols’ initial second-half burst, and Tennessee’s lead expanded to as many as 24 points.

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – In the final home game of the season, the No. 5 Tennessee Vols will honor its four seniors on Tuesday night as the Vols host Mississippi State at Thompson-Boling Arena on Senior Night.

The game will tip at 8:00pm CT and will be televised on SEC Network and can also be viewed online through WatchESPN. Fans can listen live on their local Vol Network affiliate to hear Bob Kesling and Bert Bertelkamp describing the action. Tickets for the game are still available at AllVols.com.

#7 Tennessee Vols dismantle #4 Kentucky at home, 71-52

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – In front of the sellout Thompson-Boling Arena crowd, the No. 7 Tennessee Vols powered past No. 4 Kentucky 71-52 to move into a two-way tie for first place in the SEC.

It was the largest loss for the Wildcats in conference play since February 4th, 2017 when they lost by 22 points to Florida.

Backed by a career-high performance from Jordan Bone, the Vols (26-3, 14-2 SEC) maintained a perfect home record against the Wildcats (24-5, 13-3 SEC) in the Rick Barnes era while extending their home winning streak to 25 games.
