Omaha, NE – The Nashville Sounds got an 8-4 win Thursday night against the Omaha Storm Chasers. Nashville’s Matt Davidson launched his 32nd home run in the season to lead the Sounds’ offense.
Five of the Sounds’ runs were scored in the first inning. Zack Granite scored the first run on a wild pitch. Patrick Wisdom hit a two-run single. Davidson launched his two-run homer to cap off the first inning, giving the Sounds a 5-0 lead early.
Another run was scored by Nashville in the top of the third inning. Tim Federowicz hit an RBI single to extend the lead 6-0.
Omaha, NE – The Nashville Sounds took down the Omaha Storm Chasers Wednesday night at Werner Park, 6-1. Nashville’s Matt Davidson and Jett Bandy hit back-to-back home runs and Wes Benjamin logged another quality start to lead the Sounds to victory.
One night after reaching safely all five times, Davidson stayed locked in at the plate with this 31st home run of the season and three more RBI to bring his total to 94. He had two of Nashville’s 14 hits against Omaha pitching.
Davidson helped the Sounds build an early lead when his double into the left-center gap in the top of the first scored Andy Ibanez and Patrick Wisdom to make it a 2-0 game.
Des Moines, IA – The Nashville Sounds let a 3-1 lead slip away in the sixth inning and never recovered, falling 5-3 to the Iowa Cubs on Saturday night at Principal Park. The loss ended the Sounds’ win streak at four and officially eliminated them from playoff contention. It was just their third loss in the last 16 games.
The Sounds led 3-1 through five innings and got another strong start by Seth Maness. He yielded one run – a Robel Garcia homer in the second – on just two hits and walked none over five innings in a no-decision.
Des Moines, IA – Nashville Sounds catcher Tim Federowicz broke a 1-1 tie with a two-run single in the top of the ninth inning on Friday night, and starter Wes Benjamin and three relievers stymied the Iowa offense, propelling the Sounds to a 3-1 win over the I-Cubs at Principal Park. The Sounds are 4-0 on their final road trip of the season and have won 13 of their last 15 games overall.
The Sounds scored in the first inning and ninth inning, and that was enough for the win. Zack Granite led off the game with a walk, stole second and scored on a double by Andy Ibanez to make it 1-0 against Adbert Alzolay.
Oklahoma City, OK – Nashville Sounds pitcher Tim Dillard threw seven strong innings, and Ronald Guzman went 4-for-4 with three extra-base hits on Wednesday night, as the Sounds cruised to a 7-2 victory over the Oklahoma City Dodgers at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The Sounds improved to 14-5 in August and have won 12 of their last 14 games. The victory gave them a fourth straight winning series.
The Sounds never trailed in the game, taking a 3-0 lead in the second inning on a three-run homer by Jett Bandy.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds were tied 3-3 with the Omaha Storm Chasers when in the bottom of the eighth, Tim Federowicz cranked his first home run of the season to give the team a 4-3 lead and the win.
The first run of the game was scored by the Sounds in the bottom of the first inning. Nick Solak led off with a single to extend his hitting streak to 17 games. After a Ronald Guzman walk, Solak scored on an RBI single by Matt Davidson for the Sounds’ early 1-0 lead.
Solak also led the third inning off with a single and Andy Ibanez followed him with his own single to make it first and third with nobody out. Solak scored after Guzman grounded into a double play. It was then 2-0, Nashville.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds use a seventh inning three run rally to beat the Omaha Storm Chasers 5-3 at First Tennessee Park Friday night. The win for Nashville was their eighth over the last nine games.
Trailing 3-2 into the bottom of the seventh, the first six batters reached safely for the Sounds. After back-to-back singles to start the inning by Christian Lopes and Nick Solak, Zack Granite’s base hit to center field evened the game at 3-3.
Omaha elected to intentionally walk Ronald Guzman to load the bases and it came back to hurt when Ofreidy Gomez walked Andy Ibanez to force in the go-ahead run.
Sacramento, CA – The Nashville Sounds get the go ahead run from a Nick Solak solo home run at the top of the ninth to defeat the Sacramento River Cats Monday night at Raley Field.
Solak’s clutch homer was part of a huge night for the Sounds second baseman. The blast came on a 1-1 pitch off Sacramento reliever Dan Winkler. Solak went 3-for-4 with the home run and a double. His single in the fifth inning extended his hitting streak to 13 games.
Nashville played from behind for most of the game after Sacramento’s Zach Green launched a two-run homer to left field off Seth Maness in the bottom of the first inning.
Sacramento, CA – The Sacramento River Cats defeat Nashville Sounds 3-2 in a walk off at Raley Field Saturday Sunday afternoon. The Sounds had been 4-0 on their seven-game California trip and had not trailed at any point before the River Cats scored in the ninth inning to end the game.
The Sounds grabbed a 2-0 lead in the fourth, as Ronald Guzman blasted a two-run homer to right field to break a scoreless tie. The Sounds now have homered in 13 consecutive games and hit 25 in that span.
Starter Tim Dillard, in his first outing since a nine-inning complete game, gave the Sounds another good outing. He yielded one run – a Joe McCarthy homer in the fifth inning – on five hits over 5 1/3 frames in the no-decision.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds fall Thursday night 8-5 to the El Paso Chihuahuas in the series finale. Eli White led the way for the Sounds offense with three hits.
A solo home run by Estaban Quiroz in the second inning was the first run of the game for El Paso. They scored two more runs in the third inning when Ty France hit a two-run single to make the score 3-0, Chihuahuas.
Three runs in the bottom of the fourth by Nashville tied the game up. Andy Ibanez led the inning off with a home run, his 13th of the season. Eli White hit a double that scored Nick Solak and White scored on an RBI single by Patrick Wisdom to tie the game at 3.
