Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Gas and Water Department (CGW) will be conducting sewer line smoke testing on Wednesday and Thursday, June 16th-17th, 2021 in extensive areas around the Madison Street Historic District, Porter’s Bluff Road, Greenwood Avenue, Talley Drive, Pageant Lane, Golf Club Lane, Gracey Avenue, Woodward Street, Paradise Hill Road, and Daniel Street.

County Mayor Carolyn Bowers looks back at the last eight years and ahead at Montgomery County’s Future

Montgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers was born and raised in Clarksville-Montgomery County. She graduated from Clarksville High School, then attended Austin Peay State University where she received her Bachelor and Masters Degrees. For 29 years, she taught high school business and computer classes in the school system. It was something she enjoyed and loved to do.

Serving as Montgomery County Trustee for two terms before becoming Montgomery County Mayor gave her experience with the county budget and the revenue end. As mayor, she began working on the expenditure end as well as managing the revenues and the bonds that you sell to fund capital projects.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports College and North Third Street Lane Closures

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has rescheduled the North Third Street sewer service line work that was planned for this evening to today. The eastbound lane of College Street from North Second Street to North Third Street is closed to traffic and one lane of North Third Street is closed from Main Street to College Street until approximately 4:00pm this afternoon.

College Street is passable and North Third Street traffic will be detoured to Main Street

Section of Farris Drive Closed

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – A Gas and Water construction crew has closed both lanes of Farris Drive from Robb Avenue to Drane Street for sewer service line repair. Traffic will be detoured to Robb Avenue and Summer Street.

Work is expected to be complete and the road reopened at 1:00pm this afternoon.
