Clarksville Academy CougarsClarksville, TN – It was raining three’s on senior night, Friday night at Procter Court. The Clarksville Academy Cougars and the Merrol Hyde Magnet Hawk’s game became a 3-point-shooter showdown in the second half. When the smoke cleared from downtown, the Hawks flew away with the 58-53 win.

The two teams combined for 11, 3-pointers in the second half of the game. Clarksville Academy’s Austin Fisher led the barrage with four. Fisher’s last swish from behind the 3-point arc tied the game, 50-50 with two minutes remaining in the game.

Camden High’s three’s too much for Clarksville Academy Cougars in 61-51 final

 

Clarksville Academy CougarsDover, TN – Camden High School hit 10 three’s, December 28th at the Bill Craig Memorial Gymnasium in the Stewart County High School Christmas Classic, to get out to as much as a 24-point lead on Clarksville Academy before cruising to a 61-51 win over the Cougars.

The Lions (9-2) would start their barrage right from the start, as Brandon Weed and Hunter Vick hit back-to-back 3s to give Camden an 8-1 lead less than three minutes into the game.

Big second half by Austin Fisher leads Clarksville Academy Cougars past Montgomery Central

 

Clarksville Academy CougarsDover, TN – Clarksville Academy’s Austin Fisher scored 21 of his game-high 30 points after intermission, December 27th at the Bill Craig Memorial Gymnasium in the first day of the Stewart County High School Christmas Classic, to lead the Cougars past the Montgomery Central High School Indians, 54-37.

Fisher came out on fire to open the second half, almost doubling his point total for the game with eight points in the first 2:30 of the period – including two 3s, to give the Cougars (4-6) a 30-25 lead.

Clarksville Academy Cougars no match for East Robertson in 10-A Tilt

 

Clarksville Academy CougarsClarksville, TN – With three starters out and unavailable, December 20th at Procter Court, Clarksville Academy just didn’t have the offensive firepower to matchup with District 10-A opponent East Robertson, as the Cougars fell to the Indians, 54-28.

With senior Thomas Jackson and juniors Josh Anderson and Ian Campbell out, Clarksville Academy (3-6, 1-3 District 10-A) put up a valiant effort early-on, getting out to a 5-2 lead behind five quick points by Austin Fisher, in the first 1:56.

Montgomery Central Indians rally from 15 down to beat Clarksville Academy 48-47

 

Montgomery Central High SchoolCunningham, TN – A Justin Cowan layup in the final 15 seconds, followed with a blocked shot right before the final horn, sealed away a 15-point come-from-behind victory for Montgomery Central High School, December 12th at the Thomas-Young Gymnasium, as they edged Clarksville Academy, 48-47.

The Cowan layup for Montgomery Central (3-3) came after Clarksville Academy’s Thomas Jackson had given the Cougars the lead, 47-46 with 22.9 seconds left, after hitting on of two free throw attempts.

Clarksville Academy CougarsClarksville, TN – Clarksville Academy Cougars Men’s basketball picks up district 10A win over Houston County 65-50 on Tuesday night.

Freshman Austin Fisher led the Cougars from the point guard position, scoring 37 points. He was relentless pushing the ball up the court, shooting the ball and driving to the basket.

Boys High School Basketball Wrap: West Creek, Clarksville High School and Clarksville Academy secure victories

 

Clarksville Sports NetworkClarksville, TN – West Creek, Clarksville High School and Clarksville Academy recorded victories in boys high school basketball games Friday night.

West Creek beat Rossview 56-43 in District 10-AAA play.

In other District 10-AAA action, Clarksville High outlasted Dickson County 69-65 in double-overtime.

Clarksville Academy topped East Robertson 45-43 in a District 10-A game.

High School Basketball Roundup for December 20th

 

Clarksville Sports NetworkClarksville, TN – The Northeast High School Eagles and Clarksville High School Lady Wildcats both remained undefeated with wins in high school basketball games Tuesday night. Northeast improved to 12-0 with its 67-52 victory over Hunters Lane in the State Farm Holiday Tournament in Riverdale. Clarksville High’s Lady Wildcats also upped their record to 12-0 with a 63-49 win over Munford in the Ensworth Tournament.

For Northeast, Kentucky signee Alex Poythress scored 30 points and Anthony Longstreet added 10.

For Clarksville High, Tennessee signee Bashaara Graves scored 26 points, Florida signee Chandler Cooper added 13 and Austin Peay signee Tiasha Gray chipped in 12. Rossview High also won in the Riverdale Tournament.
