Nashville Sounds take down San Antonio Missions, 7-3

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – In the last night game of the season for the Nashville Sounds, Tim Dillard pitched a gem against the San Antonio Missions, throwing 125 pitches and allowed three runs in seven innings while striking out nine. The Sounds won 7-3 in front of 11,348 at First Tennessee Park.

San Antonio scored a run in the top of the first inning during their first two at bats. Corey Ray led the game off with a single and scored on an RBI triple by Blake Allemand. The Sounds responded immediately in the bottom-half of the first inning, scoring two runs on two hits, a hit-by-pitch and an error. The Sounds led 2-1 after the first.

Nashville Sounds fall at home to San Antonio Missions

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds were leading the San Antonio Missions into the seventh inning, but allowed a three-run home run to lose the lead. The Missions added two more insurance runs in the eighth, defeating the Sounds 9-5 Saturday night at First Tennessee Park.

The first run for the Sounds came in the bottom of the first inning. Andy Ibanez hit a solo home run to left-center field, giving Nashville the early 1-0 lead.

San Antonio responded right away with a three-run second inning. Blake Allemand took the lead with one swing of the bat, hitting a bases loaded double that scored two runners. Corey Ray hit in the third run on a ground out, giving the Missions a 3-1 lead.

Nashville Sounds falter at Omaha Storm Chasers, 8-5

 

Nashville SoundsOmaha, NE – Nashville Sounds fall to the Omaha Storm Chasers 8-5 Tuesday night at Werner Park.  The Storm Chasers collected five hits – including three triples – off Nashville starter Tim Dillard in the opening inning to jump out to an early four run lead.

Adalberto Mondesi, Chase d’Arnaud and Erich Weiss had triples and Rudy Martin added a double as the Storm Chasers opened an early 4-0 lead.

Nashville got a run back in the second and trimmed the deficit to 4-1 when Jett Bandy lined a two-out single to right-center to score Matt Davidson.

Nashville Sounds shutout by Omaha Storm Chasers, 5-0

 

Nashville SoundsOmaha, NE – The Nashville Sounds struggled to get their offense going in their series opener against the Omaha Storm Chasers. Arnaldo Hernandez held Nashville to just one hit, as the Storm Chasers shut out the Sounds 5-0.

That one hit came in the first inning, when Andy Ibanez hit a double. But Hernandez pitched masterfully, retiring the next 11 batters. Hernandez would walk Jett Bandy in the fifth inning before retiring the rest of the batters he faced.

Omaha scored enough to win the game in the first inning. They scored one run when Rudy Martin launched a solo home run to lead off the game for the Storm Chasers.

Nashville Sounds push past Oklahoma City Dodgers, 7-2

 

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – Nashville Sounds pitcher Tim Dillard threw seven strong innings, and Ronald Guzman went 4-for-4 with three extra-base hits on Wednesday night, as the Sounds cruised to a 7-2 victory over the Oklahoma City Dodgers at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The Sounds improved to 14-5 in August and have won 12 of their last 14 games. The victory gave them a fourth straight winning series.

The Sounds never trailed in the game, taking a 3-0 lead in the second inning on a three-run homer by Jett Bandy.

Nashville Sounds lose one, win one in Doubleheader against Oklahoma City Dodgers

 

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds and Oklahoma City Dodgers split two games Tuesday night, losing a suspended game 10-4 and winning game two 13-8.

After beginning game one up 4-0 from the start of the May 10th matchup, Oklahoma City started right where they left off with five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Zach McKinstry hit a three-run homer, his first of the season with the Dodgers. Later in the inning, Zach Reks hit a two-run homer to make the score 9-0.

Four runs were scored by the Sounds in the top of the eighth. Zack Granite led off with a Little League home run after hitting a double and scored on two throwing errors.

Nashville Sounds come from behind to beat Omaha Storm Chasers, 5-3

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds use a seventh inning three run rally to beat the Omaha Storm Chasers 5-3 at First Tennessee Park Friday night. The win for Nashville was their eighth over the last nine games.

Trailing 3-2 into the bottom of the seventh, the first six batters reached safely for the Sounds. After back-to-back singles to start the inning by Christian Lopes and Nick Solak, Zack Granite’s base hit to center field evened the game at 3-3.

Omaha elected to intentionally walk Ronald Guzman to load the bases and it came back to hurt when Ofreidy Gomez walked Andy Ibanez to force in the go-ahead run.

Nashville Sounds get 4-2 win against Omaha Storm Chasers at First Tennessee Park

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds beat the Omaha Storm Chasers 4-2 at First Tennessee Park Thursday night. Sounds pitcher Joe Palumbo threw six no-hit innings to lead Nashville to victory. The southpaw’s brilliant outing was backed by three home runs from the offense.

The only baserunners Palumbo allowed came via walks. He issued a two-out walk in the first and a two-out walk in the fourth but escaped both innings with no damage. He struck out seven batters and threw 54 of his 81 pitches for strikes.

Jett Bandy fired up the offense in the second inning when he hit the first of three solo home runs by Nashville on the night. Bandy’s 10th of the season gave the Sounds a 1-0 lead.

Nashville Sounds suffer 3-2 loss to Sacramento River Cats

 

Nashville SoundsSacramento, CA – The Sacramento River Cats defeat Nashville Sounds 3-2 in a walk off at Raley Field Saturday Sunday afternoon. The Sounds had been 4-0 on their seven-game California trip and had not trailed at any point before the River Cats scored in the ninth inning to end the game.

The Sounds grabbed a 2-0 lead in the fourth, as Ronald Guzman blasted a two-run homer to right field to break a scoreless tie. The Sounds now have homered in 13 consecutive games and hit 25 in that span.

Starter Tim Dillard, in his first outing since a nine-inning complete game, gave the Sounds another good outing. He yielded one run – a Joe McCarthy homer in the fifth inning – on five hits over 5 1/3 frames in the no-decision.

Nashville Sounds crush Sacramento River Cats, 13-3

 

Nashville SoundsSacramento, CA – The Nashville Sounds crushed a season-high six home runs on Saturday night, including two more from Patrick Wisdom, and routed the Sacramento River Cats 13-3 in the opener of a four-game set at Raley Field. The Sounds are 4-0 so far on their seven-game California road trip and haven’t trailed at any point.

The game was tied 1-1 in the third when the Sounds began their home run barrage. Andy Ibanez and Nick Solak each hit a two-run homer off Justin Haley to make it 5-1. Then Wisdom homered for the sixth consecutive game, going back-to-back with Solak for a 6-1 advantage. Zack Granite later added an RBI single in the six-run frame.
