Tennessee Lady Vols Basketball loses at Arkansas, 83-75

 

UT Lady VolsFayetteville, AR Rae Burrell poured in 15 points in the fourth quarter to pull UT within four in the final minutes, but it wasn’t enough to overcome No. 22/25 Arkansas on road in an 83-75 setback Thursday night at Bud Walton Arena.
 
Burrell led Tennessee (17-9, 7-6 SEC) in scoring and rebounding with 21 points and nine boards, narrowly missing a double-double. Rennia Davis was also in double digits, finishing with 18 points and eight rebounds.  
 
Amber Ramirez was Arkansas’ (21-5, 9-4 SEC) high scorer, posting 29 points, and Alexis Tolefree was close behind with 22.

UT Lady Vols fall at home to South Carolina Gamecocks, 62-56

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN Diamond DeShields scored 21 points and Bashaara Graves had a double-double in No. 24/RV Tennessee’s 62-56 loss to No. 3/2 South Carolina on Monday at Thompson-Boling Arena.

The Lady Vols (15-10, 6-6 SEC) and the Gamecocks (24-1, 12-0 SEC) combined for a physical and exciting contest with several trips to free-throw line. Tennessee went 17-of-22 (77.3 percent) from the stripe and South Carolina shot 22-of-30 (73.3).

Tennessee enjoyed a 43-30 rebounding advantage, marking just the fourth time this year that a team has outrebounded South Carolina.

UT Lady Vols Basketball roll over Auburn Tigers, 79-52

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN Diamond DeShields scored 25 points, Bashaara Graves scored 18 points and Mercedes Russell posted a double-double to lead No. 12/11 Tennessee to a 79-52 win over Auburn on Sunday at Thompson-Boling Arena.

The Lady Vols (11-4, 2-1 SEC) dominated the paint, outscoring Auburn (11-5, 1-2 SEC), 48-26, down low. UT also enjoyed a 42-30 rebounding edge.

DeShields enjoyed a great all-around game, going 9-of-14 from the floor and contributing seven assists and six rebounds.

Graves scored 14 of her 18 points in the second half and shot an efficient 8-of-9 on the day.

UT Lady Vols Basketball on the road Friday to face Wichita State Shockers

UT Lady VolsKnoxville, TN – The #16/15 Lady Vols (6-2) will hit the road for the first time this year, facing off against Wichita State (1-5) at Charles Koch Arena on Friday. Tipoff is slated for 7:05pm CT (8:05 ET), and the game will be broadcast online on ESPN3 and locally in Wichita on Cox 2022HD.

Mark Ewing (PxP) and Bob Hull (Analyst) will describe the action for COX 2022 HD in Wichita and ESPN3 online. Fans can hear the Lady Vol Network broadcast on stations across the state as well as via a live stream worldwide with Mickey Dearstone calling the action.
