U.S. Representative Mark Green Introduces Bill to Block Critical Race Theory Training in U.S. Military Service Academies
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mark Green is introducing a bill to fight back against Critical Race Theory (CRT) training in U.S. Military Service Academies.
Critical Race Theory is a school of thought that teaches America–and every American institution–is based on a foundation of racism, instead of upon the principles of equality, justice, and freedom.
Under pressure from the Pentagon, Service Academies have implemented Critical Race Theory initiatives ranging from mandatory diversity training to reading lists that include Ibram X. Kendi’s How to be an Antiracist. Some Service Academies have even gone as far as to add a Diversity and Inclusion minor.
Washington, D.C. – Monday, on Gold Star Spouses Day, U.S. Representative Green introduced the Protecting Gold Star Spouses Act. The bill, which Green introduced previously in the 116th Congress, ensures that no Gold Star family will ever miss a payment during a lapse in Federal appropriations.
Representative Green said, “It’s our duty and our honor to take care of America’s Gold Star spouses and families. Our Gold Star spouses and families should never worry about whether the Federal government will fulfill its obligation to them—even during a lapse in appropriations or government shutdown. Freedom is never free.”
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mark Green has offered two amendments to House Democrats’ amnesty bill that were rejected out of hand during markup. Green’s first amendment would have ensured that criminals, gang members, and other aliens who are convicted of 1 felony or 2 or more misdemeanors would not be allowed to stay in the United States.
Green’s second amendment would have preserved President Trump’s border wall and blocked the Joe Biden Administration from rolling back the progress President Donald Trump made in securing our southern border.
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Mark Green (TN-07) and Congressman Henry Cuellar (TX-28) have introduced the bipartisan, bicameral Allied Burden Sharing Report Act of 2021, a bill that would require the U.S. Department of Defense to provide Congress with a report on the common defense contributions of NATO countries and other defense partners.
Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) has introduced identical legislation in the Senate.

U.S. Representative Mark Green Introduces Constitutional Amendment Requiring Congress to Balance Its Budget
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mark Green has introduced a constitutional amendment that would require Congress to pass a balanced budget within 10 years and keep that budget permanently balanced.
The constitutional amendment, which Green first introduced in the 116th Congress, ensures that the Federal government is subject to the same spending constraints as states. Many states have passed amendments to their state constitutions requiring their states to maintain balanced budgets.

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representatives Mark Green (R-TN) and Stephen F. Lynch (D-MA) and U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) have introduced the bicameral, bipartisan K2 Veterans Care Act.
This legislation would establish a “presumption of service connection” for the veterans who served at Karshi-Khanabad Air Base (K2) in Uzbekistan and who have since been diagnosed with toxic exposure-related illnesses and diseases, requiring the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to provide health care and benefits.
Washington, D.C. – On Monday, February 24th, 2021, U.S. Representative Mark Green offered two key amendments to Democrats’ radical “Equality Act” that Democrats rejected out of hand in their markup of the bill.
