Sacramento, CA – The Nashville Sounds get the go ahead run from a Nick Solak solo home run at the top of the ninth to defeat the Sacramento River Cats Monday night at Raley Field.
Solak’s clutch homer was part of a huge night for the Sounds second baseman. The blast came on a 1-1 pitch off Sacramento reliever Dan Winkler. Solak went 3-for-4 with the home run and a double. His single in the fifth inning extended his hitting streak to 13 games.
Nashville played from behind for most of the game after Sacramento’s Zach Green launched a two-run homer to left field off Seth Maness in the bottom of the first inning.
Nashville, TN – The Oklahoma City Dodgers rolled over the Nashville Sounds Tuesday night 16-1 at First Tennessee Park.
Oklahoma City hitters launched five home runs off Nashville pitching, including four off starter Austin Bibens-Dirkx. Trouble started in the first inning when Bibens-Dirkx walked the first three batters of the game. DJ Peters knocked in two runs with a base hit up the middle and Kyle Garlick hit the first home run of the night – a two-run shot to right-center to make it 4-0.
The Dodgers powered up again in the second with back-to-back home runs. Gavin Lux drilled a two-run blast to right-center and Will Smith followed with a solo homer to extend the lead to 7-0.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds fall to the Iowa Cubs Sunday night at First Tennessee Park 8-4. The Sounds offense only managed four hits in the contest. The game was tied until the top of the sixth inning when the Cubs scored three runs and then scored two more in the ninth.
Matt Davidson took the lead for Nashville in the bottom of the first inning. After Willie Calhoun walked, Davidson hit his long ball over the right-center field wall to give the Sounds a 2-0 advantage early. But Iowa tied the game in the top of the third inning when Erick Castillo hit a two-run double to score Zack Short and Trent Giambrone.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds crank out three home runs to beat the Iowa Cubs 7-4 Saturday night at First Tennessee Park.
Patrick Wisdom hit a solo blast in the second and Scott Heineman and Nick Solak launched a pair of two-run homers in a four-run bottom of the sixth inning.
Trailing 4-2 in the sixth, Matt Davidson reached on an infield single to spark a rally. Heineman followed and launched a two-run blast to the opposite-field to even the game at 4-4. Andy Ibanez followed and reached on what proved to be a costly error. Solak made the miscue hurt when he belted a two-run homer down the left field line to give the Sounds a 6-4 lead.
Nashville, TN – Nashville Sounds pitcher Tim Dillard goes seven stellar and infielder Nick Solak drives a pair of home runs to lead the Sounds to a 6-5 win over the Iowa Cubs at First Tennessee Park Friday night.
In Dillard’s third appearance in the last seven days, he limited the Cubs to two runs on five hits. He issued one walk and struck out four in his sixth win of the year.
The offense helped Dillard with four home runs – two from Solak in his First Tennessee Park debut, and one each from Andy Ibanez and Patrick Wisdom. Ibanez started the power display right away in the bottom of the first when he lined a pitch from Matt Swarmer into the left field seats to give the Sounds a 1-0 lead.

Salt Lake’s huge second inning started with a bang when Kaleb Cowart crushed a solo homer off Nashville starter Pedro Payano into The Band Box to make it a 1-0 game. Four of the next six batters reached safely – two on hits and two on walks issued by Payano.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds beat the Salt Lake bees 5-4 in from of 11,622 fans at First Tennessee Park Saturday night. Matt Davidson hit his 200th career home run as a professional to lead the Sounds’ offense.
Eight batters came to the plate for Nashville in the bottom of the first inning. Carlos Tocci led off with a double and would be hit in on an Andy Ibanez single. Willie Calhoun would score on a wild pitch to score the second run. The Sounds would leave the bases loaded but took a 2-0 lead into the second inning.
Nashville, TN – Nashville Sounds pitcher Seth Maness was solid on the mound Friday night and Carlos Tocci made two spectacular diving catches to help the club to a 3-2 win over the Las Vegas Aviators in front of a sellout crowd of 11,108 at First Tennessee Park.
Maness limited the prolific Las Vegas offense to just one run in 5 2/3 innings. He allowed six hits and struck out a pair. Maness got a no-decision, but the Sounds improved to 7-2 in games he has started.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds committed four errors that resulted in multiple runs for the Las Vegas Aviators who won 9-4 at First Tennessee Park Thursday night.
Nashville’s defense committed two errors in the first inning, helping Las Vegas to a 1-0 lead, and two more errors in the eighth inning as the Aviators extended their lead from 7-4 to 9-4. Las Vegas committed three errors in a sloppy contest.
Esmerling Vasquez started for Nashville and committed both miscues in the opening inning.
Round Rock, TX – Round Rock Express cruised to a 10-4 win over Nashville Sounds Thursday night. Yordan Alvarez got things going for Round Rock with a three-run home run in the bottom of the first and gave the Express a quick 3-0 lead.
The Sounds hit back-to-back home runs to tie the game up in the top of the fourth. After Andy Ibanez led off with a single, Matt Davidson hit a two-run blast for his 13th homer of the season. Eli White followed him with a homer himself, his third of the year and his second of the road trip. It was 3-3 after four innings.
