Former APSU Soccer star Tatiana Ariza to reprise her role with Colombian National Team in Rio

APSU Soccer - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Former Austin Peay State University soccer standout Tatiana Ariza will once again represent her native Colombia at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics, August 3rd-20th, in Brazil.

Ariza was one of 18 players chosen Thursday to represent Las Cafeteras (The Coffee Growers), beginning August 3rd against France in Belo Horizonte. Colombia also is scheduled to face New Zealand (August 6th) and the United States (August 9th) in the first stage of Group G.

Las Cafeteras – team nickname meaning The Coffee Growers – had never scored or earned a victory in a World Cup prior to this year’s competition north of the border. However, that all changed in the group stage which created some buzz around the globe.

APSU Hispanic Cultural Center goes on tour, hosts World Cup Sticker Exchange

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – World Cup fever continues to intensify, with soccer fans across the globe scrambling to fill their World Cup sticker albums. The Austin Peay State University Hispanic Cultural Center and Hispanic Alumni Chapter are embarking on a tour to host World Cup Sticker Exchanges at select businesses.

In addition to trading stickers and filling up World Cup sticker albums, there will be free giveaways for those that can answer soccer trivia correctly. Participants will also receive Lady Govs Soccer posters, and be able to speak with staff members about Austin Peay, the APSU Hispanic Alumni Chapter and resources provided by the APSU Hispanic Cultural Center. «Read the rest of this article»

Just like heroes at the end of old kung fu movies, standing over the defeated body of the villain who killed their master, I am basking in the glow of satisfied vengeance. With three dominating performances in a row, the Spurs avenged last season’s heartbreaking loss to the Heat and became the 2013-14 NBA Champions.
