Nashville Sounds drop Doubleheader to Salt Lake Bees

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – On Tuesday, the Nashville Sounds lost a doubleheader to the Salt Lake Bees at First Tennessee Park. Game one was lost 2-1 in a pitcher’s duel while game two was lost on a late surge by the Bees’ offense, who won 9-4.

The first runs of game one did not come until the fifth inning. Salt Lake’s Michael Hermosillo led off with a solo blast off the batter’s eye. Jarrett Parker hit a solo homer himself to give the Bees a 2-0 lead.

Nashville scored one run in the sixth inning. Matt Davidson led off with a double off the wall. Patrick Wisdom laced a single into left field that scored Davidson and cut the Salt Lake lead 2-1.

New Orleans Baby Cakes blank Nashville Sounds, 3-0

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds bats went silent in a 3-0 loss to the New Orleans Baby Cakes Friday night in front of 7,252 fans at First Tennessee Park.

New Orleans starter Adam Conley was one run better than Nashville starter James Naile. Conley fired six scoreless innings and earned his first win of the season while Naile was tagged with a tough-luck loss after he allowed one run in seven frames.

The lone run allowed by Naile came in the fourth when the Baby Cakes started the inning with three straight hits. Second baseman Cristhian Adames gave the Cakes a 1-0 lead with a run-scoring base hit through the right side.

Nashville Sounds blank New Orleans Baby Cakes 11-0 to open season

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds got 16 hits from the offense and five shutout innings from starter James Naile in an 11-0 rout over the New Orleans Baby Cakes on Opening Day. 

Every member of the starting lineup had at least one hit for Nashville. Dustin Fowler went 3-for-5 to lead six different Sounds players with a multi-hit game.

Mark Canha got the offense rolling when he launched a solo home run to lead off the second inning. It was one of two homers Nashville would hit on the night. Second baseman Franklin Barreto gave the Sounds a 3-0 lead in third when he drilled a two-run blast to left field.

Nashville Sounds clobber Colorado Sky Sox, 11-7

Nashville SoundsColorado Springs, CO – Renato Nuñez launched a pair of home runs and drove in a season-high five runs to help the Nashville Sounds top the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, 11-7, Thursday night at Security Service Field.

The Pacific Coast League All-Star belted a two-run homer in the first, and another two-run blast in the third to bring his season total to a league-high 24. Nuñez finished the night 3-for-5 with five RBI and two runs scored and became the fifth Sounds (41-46) player with a multi-homer game in 2017.
