Clarksville, TN – Faculty and staff members at Austin Peay State University recently announced publications or conferences attended as part of their professional and scholarly activities.
Victor Felts, director of Student Life and Engagement, recently was inducted into the Golden Key National Honor Society at APSU. He also served as the keynote speaker for the induction held November 1st on campus. Dr. Sergei Markov, associate professor of biology, had an article published about world-renowned scientist Lynn Margulis in the current edition of the Great Lives from History: Science and Scientists journal. This article is Markov’s tribute to Margulis, who died in 2011.
Dr. Norbert Puszkar, associate professor of German, gave a paper at the East Central Conference of the American Society of Eighteenth Century Studies on November 3rd in Baltimore, MD. The title of his paper was “Fame will get you anywhere. Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz.”
Connie Sanders, director of the Child Learning Center, and Claudia Rodriguez, director of TECTA (Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance), attended the second annual CHEW (Children Eating Well for Health) Conference on November 9th in Nashville, TN sponsored by Tennessee State University College of Agriculture, Human and Natural Sciences and the Center for Prevention Research. The purpose of CHEW is to address childhood obesity prevention through research, extension and education.
