Welcome to the new Clarksville Online blog. Just in case you are not familiar with the term, the Wikipedia defines a blog as:
A web log (usually shortened to blog, but occasionally spelled web log) is a web-based publication consisting primarily of periodic articles (normally in reverse chronological order). Although most early web logs were manually updated, tools to automate the maintenance of such sites made them accessible to a much larger population, and the use of some sort of browser-based software is now a typical aspect of “blogging”.
Blogs, are a increasingly popular source of on-line publication, especially regarding political information, opinion publication and alternative news coverage.
That is the primary purpose of this web site. But we also want to highlight and promote the diversity of our unique city. Our aim is to have representatives which reflect the entire spectrum of Clarksville citizenry. While there are many other blogs including the Leaf Chronicle’s, they are generally pale reflections of what blogs can and should be.
The power of a blog lays in it’s ability help us become a more united community. One which is based on understanding and mutual respect. It is our sincere hope that you will be able to see the diversity of opinions and views that Clarksville has to offer.
The authors here will not always agree on every point, but they will with integrity and honesty give you their point of view.
