159th CAB solider dies

Fort Campbell, KY.  The Home of the Screaming EaglesFORT CAMPBELL – A 101st Airborne Division Soldier died Tuesday of non-combat related injuries in Bagram, Afghanistan on June 9th.  The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.

Spc. Eduardo S. Silva, 25, of Greenfield, Calif., was a food service specialist assigned to Headquarters Support Company, 563rd Aviation Support Battalion, 159th Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne
Division (Air Assault).

Silva entered the Army in August 2006 and arrived at Fort Campbell in July 2008.

Silva’s awards and decorations include: Army Commendation Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Afghanistan Campaign Medal; Iraqi Campaign Medal; Korean Defense Medal; Army Service Ribbon; and Weapons Qualification: M4-rifle, expert.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalinda Silva, of King City, Calif.; and parents, Sara and Eduardo Silva, of King City, Calif.
