First Annual Sports Festival Coming to Clarksville

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation Department has teamed up with Austin Peay State University Recreation and Legends Bank to present Clarksville Sports Festival.

This two-day sports and athletic event will be held Friday, March 25th, from 1:00pm to 9:00pm and Saturday, March 26th, from 9:00am to 4:00pm at various locations on Austin Peay’s campus. The festival will be free and open to the public.

Clarksville Sports Festival is a celebration of sports and athletics in the Clarksville community and surrounding areas. The festival will provide athletes of all ages and abilities the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the different sport opportunities in the area. It will also serve as an outlet to build stronger sport networks and to achieve greater cohesiveness between schools, clubs, recreation leagues, teams, organizations, associations and individuals.

The festival will be made up of five zones: an interactive skills zone, workshop/seminar zone, exposition zone, clinic/demonstration zone, and sports heritage and honor zone. Festival-goers can visit vendors, watch demonstrations and even participate in classes and clinics.

Businesses and organizations who would like to participate can sign up now to be a vendor in one of our athletic zones. This is a great opportunity to showcase your products and/or services to the different sports participants, coaches and parents.

Registration forms can be picked up at the Parks and Recreation main office located at 102 Public Square or are available online at www.cityofclarksville.com/parks&rec/athletics.php. Registration forms must be turned in to the Parks and Recreation Office no later than March 4th, or for the “early bird” rate, February 18th.
