Man Jumps Out of Moving Vehicle

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On July 6th, 2011, around 11:00am, Clarksville Police report a 33 year old man was being driven to Gateway by an acquaintance in a Ford Taurus after sustaining lacerations to the arm and hand after breaking a window.

As the vehicle entered the eastbound on ramp of the 101st Parkway, the 33 year old opened the door and jumped out of the moving vehicle  which was traveling between 40-50 miles per hour. He hit the roadway, bounced a couple of times and then came to rest on the asphalt about 120 ft after leaving the vehicle.

The man was transported by Lifeflight to Vanderbilt and is in extremely critical condition.

The investigation, thus far, revealed the man was in distress over some personal issues. The lead investigator is Officer Bill Van Beber, 931-648-0656.
