Clarksville comedian to perform in Chattanooga

Clarksville, TN – Local talk show host and stand up comedian Hank Bonecutter will be part of a Saturday night showcase at the Comedy Catch Comedy Club in Chattanooga Saturday night.

“I don’t get to perform as often out of town as I would like due to work issues, so this is a rare opportunity for me to go” says Bonecutter.  “The schedule I keep makes it difficult to do shows during the week, so when something on the weekend opens up, I’m all over it.”

Bonecutter is owner/general manager of Wjzm radio in Clarksville, and hosts a long time morning talk show from 6:00am-9:00am called “The Bone Show”.  Having performed stand up for the last four years, Bonecutter sees it as a way to keep the creative juices flowing, and see how well he does in front of a live audience.

“I just like getting out of town where nobody knows me or cares that I’m in radio.”  said Bonecutter.  “It’s a very humbling experience to be on stage, and realize that this old fat man better be funny.”

Bonecutter’s comedy ranges from stories of being married and raising kids, to the challenges of getting older and not handling it very well. “I feel like I’m an ambassador for Clarksville when I entertain out of town, so I’ve got to be funny or they’ll send me to Bangkok”.

The show is hosted at Chattanooga’s oldest comedy club and features some of the up and coming comics along with top ranked headliners.

About The Comedy Catch

Celebrating Twenty Five Years of Laughter!

So these two kids from Jersey walk into a bar…….

It sounds like the start of a joke, but it isn’t. Keeping Chattanooga entertained for the last 25 years has been serious business for Michael Alfano and Cheryl Gorrian.

In the summer of 1985 The Comedy Catch debuted as Chattanooga’s first full time comedy club, then located in Dr. Sages atop the since demolished Holiday Inn downtown. Comedians Kens Sons and Les McCurdy started the club but soon relocated the club to its present Brainerd Road location and was renamed The Comedy Catch at the Cafe. Being comedians they missed touring and performing comedy nation wide and decided to sell the Brainerd Rd business to  Alfano and Gorrian.

It was a rather small and intimate club back then; seating about 100; with the restaurant, now named, Giggles Grill downstairs and the Show Room upstairs. Improvements over the years boosted the clubs’ seating capacity to around 150 until the Great Remodel of 2000 transformed The Comedy Catch into the jewel it is today. The club is now all on one level and our Show Room can comfortably seat 250 with state of the art sound and lighting. One thing that hasn’t changed in the last 25 years is the hands on ownership, delicious food and beverages, and the best  service staff in town.

In its history The Comedy Catch has hosted some of the biggest stars in comedy. Names such as Jerry Seinfeld, Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White, D.L Hugley, Tommy Chong, Paula Poundstone, Tommy Davidson, Richard Jeni, Bobby Collins, Carrot Top, Tracy Morgan, Gallagher, James Gregory, Pauly Shore, Bobcat Goldthwait and many others have all graced our stage. In addition to national talent, The Comedy Catch stage has launched many local careers, and is considered one of the best venues in the south by many of the regional favorites.

Management at the club strives for all to have an entertaining evening, whether you are attending our weekly comedy shows or one of our special shows. Through the years The Comedy Catch has presented a variety of entertaining programs; comedy shows for the hearing impaired, shows for day care teachers, recovering alcoholics, just women, a show for the gay community, Christian Comedy Shows and a long list of charity events.
