Palmyra, TN – Brother James Salyers, an evangelist from southwestern Virginia, will be the guest speaker at the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church’s revival this weekend.
Services will run on September 14th and 15th, Friday and Saturday night, at 7:00pm. He will also be the guest speaker on Sunday, September 16th.Brother Salyers was born in Raven, Virginia near what was originally known as the Old Kentucky Turnpike. He grew up in a coal mining and farming community, and is no stranger to either the plow or the coal mines. His memoirs tell the story of growing up in the Appalachian hills, citing early years with no electricity and an outdoor toilet. At the start of his first service, he proclaimed himself as “country as a turnip green.”
He served as an Assembly of God minister for over 20 years before retiring, but still promotes God’s word as an evangelist. At the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church, this will be Brother Salyers’ third year sharing God’s word with his high energy and trademark humor.
Services will be on September 14th and 15th, Friday and Saturday night, starting at 7:00pm. Finger food will be served after the evening services. He will also be the guest speaker at the homecoming service on Sunday, September 16th, at 11:00am, which will be followed by a potluck lunch.
Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church is located at 4812 Shiloh Canaan Road Palmyra, TN.
All are welcome to attend.
