Clarksville, TN – The William Workman Gymnasium at Clarksville High School echoed with the the distinct “thud” of bodies hitting rubber floor mats, coaches yelling instructions and the constant whistle of multiple referees early Saturday morning because of Slamfest 2013, the annual wrestling meet hosted by the Wildcats.
This year wrestling teams from 13 schools participated in the event, including West Creek, Northwest, Rossview and Fort Campbell. The teams were divided into four different pools and the matches commenced at 9:00am.
Fort Campbell, KY – Plan now to join Hooper Bowling Center for a Family friendly New Year’s Eve Party. On December 31st, starting at 8:00pm and ending at 1:00am, Hooper will be ringing in 2014 with bowling, pizza, party favors and sparking juice.

Clarksville Police reports Pedestrian killed in hit and run Accident on Tylertown Road Near Roscommon Way
Clarksville, TN – Early Saturday morning, December 14th, 2014, the Clarksville Police Department responded to an accident involving a pedestrian on Tylertown Road near Roscommon Way. A citizen walking on Tylertown in route to work discovered the pedestrian’s body at 5:11am this morning.

Clarksville, TN – On New Year’s Eve, Tuesday, December 31st, the Calico Ball, a fundraiser for the Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County and the Montgomery County Friends of the Shelter will be held at Clarksville’s Customs House Museum.

Clarksville, TN – Points came at a premium on the Hawks court Friday night when the Rossview Hawks took on the Northeast Eagles. However, the Hawks scored enough in overtime to get the win. Sophomore guard Javon Vaughn made 5 of 6 clutch free throws in the last minutes of the overtime period to give the Hawks the 47-45 win.
“He’s been huge for us this year. He has led us in scoring. Just being a sophomore, there is good things to come from him,” Hawks head coach Johnny Jackson said. “Tonight when Cannon fouled out, that moved him to the point. He has been adamant about not playing the point. Tonight I thought he was huge. He stepped up and handled the ball and got it to the free throw line and sealed it for us.”
Clarksville, TN – The Rossview Lady Hawks continued to prove they are the team to beat in District 10-AAA with their third conference win in a row, this time at home Friday night against the Northeast Lady Eagles, 73-44.
“I thought our intensity and our energy was good. I though our length bothered them some. I thought our size was a big factor,“ Lady Hawks head coach Justin Wood said. “We had several second chance points in the first quarter especially. We did a good job of disrupting what they were trying to do offensively.”
