Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Obituary: Marvin Edward Herald, of Clarksville, TN, passed away peacefully at Signature Healthcare with his caring family at his side on October 11th, 2026, at the age of 84.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in his honor on Thursday, October 15th, 2026, at 2:30pm at Resthaven Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The Herald family will have visitation prior to the service from 1:00pm – 2:00pm at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home.
Marvin was born June 10th, 1942, in Booneville, KY, to loving parents Andrew and Cindy Herald. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
He was the co-owner and partner of Herald & Phillips Home Builders, an accomplishment that he was very proud of. He was presented with the Homebuilder of the Year award in 2015 and was an active member of Clarksville Montgomery County Home Builders Association.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his devoted wife; Dorothy Sheppard Phillips Herald, as well as his daughter; Kim MacDonald.
Marvins’s memory is left to be cherished by his son; Troy Herald and his wife Stephanie of Paris KY, as well as his children by marriage; Mike Sheppard and his wife Malissa of Brentwood TN, Mark Sheppard of Clarksville TN, Vicki Sheppard Mayfield and her husband Jeff of Clarksville TN, and Paula Sheppard Millerd of Clarksville TN.
He will also be remembered by his 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, all who he loved and adored.
Marvin will be remembered as a loving and attentive husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, and a talented contractor. His memory will be carried on in all that knew and loved him.
