2016 APSU Homecoming King and Queen Crowned

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – On Saturday, October 22nd Austin Peay State University announced the 2016 APSU Homecoming Court and crowned Homecoming King and Queen during halftime at the Governors football game against Mercer at Fortera Stadium.

Ilyana Capellan a communications major was crowned Homecoming Queen. Capellan from Aliso Viejo, CA was sponsored by Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. She was escorted by her cousin Rico Gardner.

Ilyana Capellan was crowned APSU Homecoming Queen and Lane Chisenhall was crowned King Saturday at the APSU Football game against Mercer.

APSU’s Alpha Tau Omega fraternity raises $20,000 for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Earlier this semester, Austin Peay State University’s Alpha Tau Omega fraternity chapter presented a $20,000 check to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

The fraternity hosts an annual event on campus, Jump for Jude, to support the hospital.

In March, Stephen Dominy, coordinator of Fraternity & Sorority Affairs, was named the NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education Fraternity & Sorority Knowledge Community co-chair. Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – The Office of Student Affairs at Austin Peay State University honored leadership and service by individual students, student organizations and faculty and staff at its Student Organization and Leader Awards Program held April 13th.

The annual program’s focus is recognizing students, student organizations, faculty and staff who have made an impact throughout the year, Student Affairs Programs Director Tammy Bryant said.

Seniors Kenneth Kennedy (left), of Clarksville, and Paige Rasmussen, of McKenzie, were named Mister and Madam Governor. The Mister Governor and Madam Governor Awards, presented by APSU Provost Dr. Tristan Denley, honor graduating students who have contributed to the University community through leadership, diversity and service and have participated in leadership roles on campus while maintaining high academic standards.
