Austin Peay State University unveils vision for new Health Professions Building

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – On Friday morning, Austin Peay State University (APSU) unveiled its vision for a new Health Professions Building that will one day consolidate the University’s growing healthcare-related programs under one roof.

Those programs include the School of Nursing and the departments of allied health sciences, health and human performance, psychological science and counseling and social work.

Families find a home at Austin Peay over several generations

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Alisha Jerles Horn (’09, ’12) never knew her grandfather, but sometimes, while walking across campus, she pictures him as a tall college student, dressed in an old-fashioned basketball uniform. William Grayford Nutt arrived at Austin Peay in 1937 as a 19-year-old athlete, and sometimes Horn imagines him waving at a pretty, young woman.

Austin Peay State University art exhibit “Fail Forward” now open

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – For years, visitors to Austin Peay State University’s Wilbur N. Daniel African-American Cultural Center have admired the art gallery set up in the front lobby. Particularly, they’ve commented on the colorful, abstract paintings by alumna Miesha Arnold.

The artist generously donated her work to the University, and this month, the Center is hosting an exhibition of her watercolors, titled “Fail Forward.”

Food, Clothing, and Hygiene Drive to support the Austin Peay State University Food Pantry

Tennessee State Representative - House District 67Nashville, TN – House Bill 32, License Plates for our Veterans and Active Duty Military.

House Bill 32, sponsored by Tennessee State Representative Cameron Sexton (R-Crossville) will make some changes, effective July 1st, 2014, to the issuance of license plates to our active duty military and veterans who receive honors and awards such as the Purple Heart, Silver Star, Air Medal, and Medal of Honor.

The most substantial change is moving the Air Medal plates to the category of military cultural license plates.  This category also contains other license plates such as the Silver Star and Bronze Star.
