Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) would like to congratulate Daniel Trimble and Austin Brown on their graduation from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy in Nashville, Tennessee.

The twelve week course prepares students to meet the standards for law enforcement officers established by the Tennessee Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission (POST).

The curriculum includes firearms training, defensive and tactical driving, physical defense tactics, understanding terrorism, law enforcement procedures, and introduction to the legal process.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office swears in Seven Jail Deputies

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's OfficeClarksville, TN – Family, friends, and coworkers proudly watched as Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson conducted a swearing in ceremony for seven new jail deputies Monday afternoon.

William Baldwin, Austin Brown, Eliel Barbosa, John Ravis, Ryan Stach, Michelle Wacker, and Kristen Mendes have all been assigned to the Detention Division.

Other recent new hires include Dyonlzy Blonski and Joel Kuan Jr. They have been assigned to work as clerks in booking.

Kenwood Knights fall to Mount Juliet Golden Bears late rally, 48-45

 

Kenwood High SchoolClarksville, TN – The Mount Juliet Golden Bears rallied in the fourth quarter to overcome an eight-point deficit and slay the Kenwood Knights, 48-45, in the Region 5-AAA tournament quarterfinals Tuesday night at Kenwood High School.

After outscoring the Bears 11-7 in the third quarter, the Knights went into the final quarter with a 37-29 lead. However, the Knights made just one field goal in the fourth quarter. Their only other points in the last eight minutes came from 6-of-10 shooting at the free throw line.

Clarksville High Wildcats gets 59-41 win over Hendersonville

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – Clarksville High School held Hendersonville High School to single-figure scoring in three of four quarters, November 18th at the William Workman Gymnasium, as the Wildcats came away with a 59-41 victory.

Despite playing a road game the night before in Nashville, the Wildcats (2-2) defense was dominate in the contest, only allowed the Commandos to score seven points in the first, second and fourth quarters.

Clarksville High on the other hand had more than enough offensive firepower, led by JJ Jones’ game-high 22 points.

Rossview High School Baseball makes it three 10-AAA Tournament Titles in a row with win over Clarksville High School

 

High School BaseballClarksville, TN — It’s hard enough to win one district tournament title, much less three in a row, but that is what Rossview High School’s baseball team accomplished on May 8th, as the Hawks rolled past the Clarksville High School Wildcats, 11-1.

With the win, Rossview (25-10) will host an opening-round game of the Region 5-AAA tournament on May 13th – against the runner up of District 9-AAA – while Clarksville High (25-12) will go on the road to the champion of District 9-AAA.

Montgomery Central and Northwest won Sunday Night at the Tennessee District 9 Ten Year Old Little League Baseball Tournament

Montgomery Central Little League is hosting the District 9 Ten Year Old baseball tournament.

Little League BaseballCunningham, TN – Little League Tournament games continued at Montgomery Central Elementary School Sunday night as Montgomery Central eliminated Woodlawn 11-1. Central was led by Jace McWhorter, Austin Brown, Ty Garrett and Bo Perry with two hits apiece. Garrett had the only home run in the game. Clay Allen added a triple for Central.

Northwest eliminated Stewart County 10-7. Aaron Denhart led Northwest with two singles. Hunter Knotts also had two singles for Stewart County. «Read the rest of this article»

Montgomery Central Little League is hosting the District 9 Ten Year Old baseball tournament.

Little League BaseballCunningham, TN – In Little League action at Montgomery Central Elementary School, Montgomery Central behind three hits from Seth Ratliff beat Burns 17-7. Jace McWhorter, Austin Brown and Bo Perry added two hits apiece. Luke Jenkins had a triple and a double for Burns.

Northwest beat South Cheatham #1 with winning pitcher Gabe Sibert, Kyle Bradford and Zak Kramer contributing two hits. Maverick Rodriquez and Jack King had a triple and double for South Cheatham #1. «Read the rest of this article»
